A format without Junk Arm

With BW on announced as our official rotation, we bid farewell to our beloved Junk Arm, the card that was so versatile and so useful in so many situations. Many Items could have their quantities cut because Junk Arm functioned as a wild card for any Item.

How will people adapt to this change, and will people start playing Sableye techs? I wasn't playing competitively before Junk Arm was released so forgive my lack of ideas.

We don't care about it.

At worst some 1 of trainers turn to 2 of like switch. Other than that nothing special.

Just don't play single cards like Max Potion or Plus Power "because they MAY come handy in some situations", unless you have too much space. Play Items that really help your deck and don't mess with consistency.

This is Yuta's Item line, he won Worlds invite this year with this.
Item 14
4x Pokemon Catcher
3x Level Ball
3x Rare Candy
2x Super Rod
2x Switch

See? Simple, straight.

In my opinion, it will make you think about your trainer plays. The new format won't allow a player to play a catcher turn 1 just so they can junk arm for it later. It will take proper planning of cards to be able to utilize the full potential of your trainer lines. The new format is gonna be way slower which is another interesting change along with no junk arm. I wouldn't be surprised if we see oddball trainers weasel their way back into decks as a tech or rogue idea.

I partly agree. you're right about how it's going to be more difficult for less experienced players. for many, it's easy to sneak into those junk arms after an early game catcher (or any trainer for that matter). I dont think the format's going to be way slower though. zekeels will still be pulling off second turn 120s, tornadus ex and a stadium hits for 60 turn 1, and mewtwo ex still hits for 40 with a dce. this doesn't cover the random darkrai hitting for 90 t1 with a lot of luck. it will be slower though, which I think many players will (and should) welcome.
