A thief at worlds

At day 2 of worlds during the final match, someone came forward to one of my friends and said he'd like to sell his stolen cards.

I recognize he is one of Gino's "buddies" and speaks Spanish well, did anyone have a similar experience?

A semi-black guy who wore black/white glasses and had some kind of hip hop style, stole all of my friends cards and got away with it.
He just ran with the cards and then came back saying "feel free to look in my bag".

some kid stole a big binder with about 2,000 cards in it with 18 lvxs i was so mad mad & he just got away with it like nothing every happend i told some1 cuz i saw him do it & run & there like its ur proplem kid got lucky i had my back tourned 4 1 second

probably best to send this to POP.

There are lots of photos of players who attended worlds. If you wished you could probably come up with a better identification. Just be carefull of libelous statements. Don't compare notes.

The police showed up and all, and my friend got told that he would get a $600 replacement when he got home, so it was allright.
They also took it to some of the POP guys at Worlds i think, and they couldn't do anything about it.

That's pretty sad that someone would do something like that. I hope they are caught and banded from all future events held by POP.

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

Too bad they didn't say "No need we have you on tape doing it" beat he would have turned and ran back to where he put them. Then they could have followed him and got them back.

I think I know who you are speaking, and am fairly certain he is in one of Cameraman's pics.

As for the first post, why would he tell you they were stolen?

Everyone knew it already.

He was looking in my friends binder and just ran off with it. My friend was WATCHING.

He was a friend of Gino i think. (at least i saw him hang out at the table Gino was playing at in the open game room. I didn't recognize the other dudes)

I know exactly the person you guys are talking about.
He was actually a really good guy, although he had a bit of dodgy action originally; he returned that stuff (or at least the stuff Ash is talking about)

Most importantly, if anyone concludes he is a thief, bad person etc, there is no way that you should connect Gino with this.

Sorry if it seemed like i connected it with Gino. I'm not.

Also, he definitely didn't return the stuff to my friend. lol.

I think i know who you were talking about. I saw him in Gino's crew and chatted with him the night of day 1 when we were playing video games. If its who i think it is im not shocked this happened. Its unfortunite POP cant do anything but think of it this way. If they accuse someone whats to say he would of ditched the evidence with friends and then deny everything. If they don't have the proof there they wont launch a whole investigation to find it. The way they see it its to hard, EXPECIALLY at worlds to find the crook. I wondered why the cops were there at the event Sunday. I'm sorry to whoever had their cards stolen and its a darn shame but truthfully its happened before and there is no way to get it back unless you can just take it back.

I figured Gino of all people whop be smarter then to roll with a crew like that but ohh well. I hope whoever did this is caught and banned from POP but i dought it will happen.

Oh My God!!!

I wasan't at the worlds this year but to think that some people are cruel enough to run away with a binder in front of the owner is pretty low...

well hard lesson learned here, NEVER LOSE TRACK OF YOUR STUFF

i do feel sorrry for the people who lost stuff, but you also cant only blame one person.

dont worry my friend brian L had his stuff snatched too but if the same guy you all are refering to did that then karma has a bad way of coming around to kick some one in the rear

Well here's my convo with him:

"Hey, I'm about to quit Pokemon and I'm trying to sell my cards, look at this binder and tell me if you see anything. I'd really like ot sell the whole thing for about 50 dollars."
"Oh really(looking through the binder) , I'd give you ten for this crap, there isn't one good card in here."
"How about this binder?"
"No, I don't really want to get stuff I don't need, and I don't want that anyways."
"I have 2 Cynthia's in japanese"
"How much"
"Eight, each."
"No"

He got down to 6 for both. I did that.

He also tried to sell me Regigas sleeves for like 3 dollars. I didn't want them. He looked fishy though.

ya that sounds like someone trying to sell stuff quick to get rid of the evidence, and i know who your talkin about he wears glasses hes real skinny i remember him from nats. i wish id catch one id take him outside.
