Acidic Mucus VS Path To The Peak

Hi there!
I wanted to ask about a certain interaction.
Flapple EVS 120's Acidic Mucus attack reads, "This attack does 50 damage for each of your opponent's Pokémon in play that has an Ability." However, Path to the Peak removes abilities.
The question is: If Path to the Peak is in play, and my opponent has a rule box Pokemon in play with an ability, does that decrease Flapple's damage?

If i were judging, i would rule that yes Acidic Mucus does not count any Pokémon with a Rule Box when Path to the Peak is in play.

For an official answer, you could ask in the "Ask the Rules Team" forum

There is a similar ruling in the Compendium that agrees with BJJ763, but I'm not sure if it is for those exact cards. But the ruling would apply. Abilities that are turned off aren't there.

Does Path to the Peak Remove the abilities like they weren’t printed on the card (that would alter the printed text on cards, making it a completely new card).

Or

Does it prevent the abilities from being used?

I would think you cannot remove a printed ability, just not use it. Therefor they’re still there just not active.

Would this follow Battle Frontier, Cessation Crystal, Muk, Muk EX, etc.

Interpreting 'Pop's post, the Abilities are not there - they are removed.

I would apply this to any card having text "have no Abilities".
Other cards would have to be looked at separately
