After three bad STPs with no really satisfying results (I went 3-2 at all of them), it was time for Akershus, the last of them. I had used different decks at all the earlier tourneys, first ToxiTank (without Weavile. It failed), then DuskZong, then Kingdra. The only one of those decks I really felt had any potential were DuskZong, so I decided playing it, only adding a tech Azelf Lv. X for Tyranitar and Galactic.
I arrived at the tourney at 10.00 a.m. together with my friends Oscar and Ferdinand and my brother Syver. We handed in our decklists, got registered and waited for a while before the first round started.
It was five rounds and top 4 in seniors.
Round 1 – Jad w/Tyranitar
This guy’s deck was weird. It had 4 Darkrais, but no Lv. X, and no Weavile. Anyway, when he first flipped over a Larvitar, I got pretty scared as my hand was pretty much crap and Tyranitar is pretty much an autoloss (I didn’t know how weird his deck was at that point, so I thought I was going to lose). He started and did 10 to my lone Duskull. I topdecked a Candy, which made my day. Rare Candy to Dusknoir SF, attached, Level Max to Dusknoir Lv. X, used Shadow Command. All in the first turn. His next turn he evolved to Pupitar, and attached. He attacked, and I sat hoping “get heads, get heads!” You know what? He got heads
So next turn I attached, used Roseanne for Baltoy and another Duskull and Shadow Commanded. Then I used Damage Even to KO his Pupitar. He had no chance from there, and I won the match 5- or 6-0.

Round 2 – David H.J. w/Rampardos
I can’t remember much of this match other than that he started with Uxie, therefore not getting a donk. I got a good start, and after a long fight I managed to win the match 1-0.

Round 3 – Markus R.N. w/Galactic
I can’t remember much of this either, but I remember that constant Bronzong spread + Dusknoir Lv. X won me this.

Round 4 – Tord R. w/Palkia G/Dialga G/Mesprit
He locked me. ‘Nuff said. Tord is the best and highest ranked player in Norway, so I didn’t feel bad about losing to him.

Round 5 – Aleksander P. w/Galactic
Constant Bronzong and Dusknoir Lv. X won me this match too. Night Spin helped a bit too.

Yes! First time that I been in top cut at STPs! The top cut looked like this:
1. Tord R. (5-0)
2. Knut Are S. (me, 4-1)
3. Benjamin S. (4-1)
4. Aleksander P. (3-2)
Top 4 – Benjamin E.S. w/Magmortar/Togekiss/Farfetch’d
This guy played like 25 energies, no Bebe, no Roseannne and 1 Candy. You may ask yourself why he made top 4, and the reason was that he got a billion energies on his Magmortar t2 in two matches (lucky donks), he had one bye, and one legit win. Lucksacking, but it still was his first tourney ever, and I was very impressed.

I won easily by taking out his Magmortars and ‘Kisses while they were still on his bench.

Same as the first, except that this time he drew two prizes.

Tord defeated Aleksander, so I now had to meet my only loss in swiss.
Top 2 – Tord R. w/Palkia G/Dialga G/Mesprit
Game 1
As in swiss, he got a good start and locked me early. After a while I realized that I had no chance of a comeback, and scooped.

Game 2
This time I got the better start, and pretty much avoided getting locked. I Dark Palmed his Palkia G before he had a chance to level it up, and this hindered his game greatly. I at last won the game on time with 3-1 in prizes.

Game 3 – Sudden Death
I started with Bronzor, and he deafened me, Pl0xed me and poisoned me. Needles to say, I lost.
