The Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) City Championships are the first title events in the Championship Series, culminating at the 2012 World Championships in Waikoloa, Hawaii. Each City Championship is part of a title event series where players compete to become a Champion! These events will be held in hundreds of cities across the world. Results of the City Championships count toward your Championship Points.
Tournaments are free and open - anyone can play so come prepared to have fun and compete. What you need: knowledge of the Pokémon TCG Black & White rules, a tournament legal deck of 60 cards (from Heart Gold Soul Silver to Noble Victories expansion sets), a completed City Championship deck list, legal randomizer (official coin for flipping or translucent dice), damage counters and special condition markers (for burned and poisoned). Not sure about something? Need a deck list, copy of the Black & White rules, instructions? Contact the tournament organizer – we will get you in shape to play.
We will be doing some random table draws for fun stuff and having a lunch break… If time and opprotunity allow, we will run side events with prizes for those divisions which may have lower numbers...
The style is Age Modified Swiss. That means all players play in every round. There are three age divisions:
❒ Junior Division (born in 2001 or later)
❒ Senior Division (born in 1997, 1998, 1999, or 2000)
❒ Masters Division (born in 1996 or earlier)
