Thanks a lot

this set is not bad..... but mega bad. The cards which arent released in japan yet look bad, and have mega bad attacks.

the reverse holos look awesome and there are some good cards but this set is basically a 2nd call of legends set.

I think if druddigon gets released, it could see some play with Mandibuzz from this set; as well as the mandibuzz from black and white.

mandibuzz wont do a lot damage even if we have druddigon. i mean you need 8 darkness energies (or 4+ 2 special darks on mandibuzz) in play to do 100 damage. there are other cards which needs less effort to do 100 damage at least. Besides there are cards like crushing hammer or lost remover which make mandibuzz less viable

hmmm trainers are good, the levanny and swoobat could see play when flip victini is released.

beartics are decent, so are scolipede and gothitelle.

krookodile... maybe could be decent with flip victini.

unfezant hmm interesting stage 2, energy accel attack for one, 80 or 40 + discard opponent energy for 3. decent hp ok weak/res and free retreat could see some play

hmm just noticed whirlipede 10 or 70 if opponent is poisoned for :psychic: that looks like a nice combo with roserade

I'm digging this set. Especially the straight draw supporters that were so direly needed.

we also got a better version of good rod in the form of Recycle. That is solid.

Cannot wait for pre-release!

Looks like pre-ordering 8 catchers from troll and toad paid off. I hear a guy opened 2 boxes and only got 4!

That Watchog is pretty good, top 5 rearrange in this format could be a pretty sweet smackdown option over Slowking. I also like how it gives an option tot ry for more damage, i think thats a very cool mechanic.

And that Cinccino is the cutest thign ever 0.o

Outside of that, i like Mandibuzz, Krookodile, Swoobat (phat sound...oh my god yes xD), Gothi, both Beartic, Swanna, Levanny, Whimsiscot, Liligant, the Sigilpyhs and all the trainers (aside from Catcher. Hater gonna hate that).

Really, this set looks like it would be fantastic if there wasnt the exsisting power creep going on (Yanmega/Donphan/Reshiram/Zekrom) for strategic, flippy and fun games. And with the new reverse holo they have, allt he better.

the article mentions which ones are english exclusive pablo and only the levanny and ferrothorn have 2 version where one is english exclusive (its the higher numbered ones 8 and 73)

The only thing that saves this set it the trainer cards. Having looked through the pokémon the only competitive cards I can see are...

Simpour
Beartic
Thundurus
Gothitelle
Tornadus
Watchdog

Sigilyph [block 40 damage]
Audino

Minccino
Vullaby

Even then, only 2-3 of these cards will see highly competitive play come cities. To me it will depend on how much the trainers are going for as to whether getting a box of this set is worthwhile.

The trainers in the set aren't too bad, honestly. Bianca and Cheren both bring some really solid draw supporters to the format

Snipe Sigilyph looks pretty interesting to me, at least.

Barring the trainers (durr catcher), I'm not seeing anything sans Beartic thats going to change this format.

Honestly, the only card this set needs in it is Memory Berry (that doesn't get discarded at the end of the turn). There are some decent attacks here and there but nothing amazing on the top stages.

(it'd also give the evolutions an advantage over the powerful basics)

150 HP Klinklang who can retrieve special energy and is metal? Surely something can be done with that.

Expect the Max Potion to see a lot of play for Yanmega/Donphan mirrors we'll be seeing so much of soon.

Other than that, Catcher, Crushing Hammer, Bianca, Beartic and Tornadus are the only cards of interest. Well and Minccino for the baby donk =X Looks like I'll be buying a few single cards, but that's it.
