Just wondering just how concerned everyone is over Pt Ampharos? If you have a deck that relys on Pokepowers, just how worried are you about Ampharos being played at States? And, if you are wary about it have you teched in a Dialga G X yet, or do you have some other plan to deal with the Electric sheep?

I'm not really worried. The only really important powers I play, are the ones that work when you play the card from your hand, so no worries there. And the powers I do have that aren't that, are not that big of a deal.

In all, the only reason I fear Amphy is because my main hitter is weak to him.

Amphy's not much to be afraid of if you're running a Psychic or Grass deck, or one that doesn't exactly rely on powers from Evolutions. So most of my decks are safe, save for the ones that use Togekiss as tech...

I don't doubt that Ampharos will appear, I just don't think it'll be a problem. We have bigger things to worry about...

So archetype decks like dusknoir, gardevoir, gengar that dominated CC's don't have to worry about their powers? What about Regigigas decks? Decks that rely on Claydol as a draw engine can be stopped ASAP by it. Ampharos is one of the best counters to several amazing pokemon.

It cripples Dusknoir X, Cresselia X, Gengar, Claydol, Bronzong SF, Uxie X, Palkia X, Magnezone X, Magmortar X, Leafeon X, BlastCatty, etc.

Who wouldn't run a card that can shut down all of the above mentioned cards?

It was more of a rhetorical question. I don't use the card because my deck can work without use of my claydol (slows me down a lot though), but to say that ampharos wouldn't be much of a problem is completely inaccurate.

Some decks that use powers should be able to fit a 1-1 Dialga g for the anti-lock

Protip: I love answer rhetorical questions

Amphy, what is?

Nah, just j/k. Not too worried about it, who's gonna play him when Machamp is there to KO his butt anyways?

Eh, players don't play dialga purely to kill off amphy, it's good enough to hinder several decks. Let's just say that most smart players are going to be prepared wether you like it or not.

What I don't like about amphy, good players will already have outs to beat it, really, really bad players probably don't run powers anyway, so you're both in a race with you running a set of pokemon who do crap for damage. So you'll either stay in the middle tables after getting clobbered by the players who teched for you, or you'll go straight to the bottom tables because you're a coinflip against something as bad as a theme deck who just happened to run donphan.

I believe Amphy/Manetric is gonna be the turncruel of PT seriously, it's hyped to the max, but it isn't that good well... at all.

Amphy doesn't scare me in the slightest, he's far to easy to play around. Also, Machamp and Rampardos destroy him.

I think he's a good card, but I'm far more worried about Power Spray than Amphy's locking.

Amphy is coming, oh no.
Does that mean I am afraid of it? No.
Seriously from my experience of playing for 3 years, people hype a new card a lot before a big tournament and tech in something to stop it and it doesn't show up much.
People thought Raichu X would stop claydol from being played, and yet claydol is still a heavy draw engine.
Am I aware that Amphy will see play? Yes.
Am I afraid of it? No.
I know it's there and I know to be careful when battling it, but I'm not going to get all hyped up about it and tech in a 1-1 line of a pokemon, when I could tech in 2 cards that speed up my deck.
Also you people seem to forget that Amphy's power works on both players.
Guessing that Amhpy will be running Claydol, if any damage is on that thing, there goes their draw engine.

Well this is similar to teh problem I had during cities which was facing Dusknoir decks. I looked at teh deck and decided that teh biggest threat to me was Dark Palm Dusknoir, so I decided to tech it in my deck then.

Teh same thing works for Amphy. Your biggest threat is not Amphy itself but Manectric because it hits all Pokemon with Powers but protects teh bench. Your solution, if you do indeed find it a threat, is to tech a line of Manectric in yourself. Your bench will be protected since their Manectric can only hit at most your active Pokemon who may have a power. This would leave your deck free to abuse powers without worrying about their Amphy, and it is looking like standard Amphy/Manectric decks arent running anything with snipe potential so there is no worries about it going down on teh bench.

It also helps protect other Pokemon of yours from being hit from spread damage since your opponent can only hurt your Manectric so it would survive a few turns of Spinning Tail, Dragon Pump and Snow Play being teh only one taking teh bench damage giving you time to pump up teh one on your bench they wish they could be hitting.

Dusknoir is a neccessary tech in Ampharos to scoop up their Manectric and Dialga G techs.

Unless they see it coming.. And I'm pretty sure that most players these days can be smart enough to realize that if they have a bench of 4, and they're playing a Stage 2 deck, chances are Noir is comin'.

If Dialga wasn't around, I'd probably play it as a tech, but it's just a matter of bad timing.
