Amphibian Assault

Pokemon (21)
4 Poliwag (evolution)
3 Poliwhirl (evolution)
3 Poliwrath (beatdown)
2 Politoed EX (beatdown)
3 Slowpoke (evolution)
3 Slowbro (assist)
3 Plusle (draw)

Trainer (24)
3 Prof.Elm's Training Method (draw)
3 Prof.Cozmo's Discovery (draw)
3 Steven's Advice (draw)
3 MasterBall (draw)
3 Rare Candy (evolution)
3 Island Cave (disable)
3 Mr.Briney's Compassion (enable)
3 Fluffy Berry (enable)

Energy (15)
12 Water Energy
3 Multi Energy

Deck Idea:

The deck above focuses on Politoed's ability to hit and run as well as greater damage with higher HP attack. Poliwrath line handles the electric weakness of its cousin. Slowbro enables Politoed to be able to deal 120 turn after turn. Mr.Briney's Compassion heals Slowbro. Fluffy Berries are used just in case a retreat is needed for either Poliwrath or Slowbro. Need to find a way to continuously get Slowbro out on the field to continue the damage removal. The frogs and shellfish er...slowpoke? will be unstopable!
Fixes and other ideas welcomed.

Hey Cephiro, Heres my fix.
-3 Master Ball
-3 Cozmos
+1 Plusle
+4 TV Reporter(POP seris 2)
+1 Multi Energy
Hopefully this helps some, and good luck.

Hi supertyranitar,

Thanks for your fix. Also feel that the additional Plusle will definitely help. Hopefully i can get 4 TV Reporter from em POP packs :).

Hi Cephiro,

Consider the template below and work in a fourth Swoop! Teleporter for a turn two Poliwrath or Politoed Politoed Ex. Work on the Pokémon count to fit one more into the list. Slowbro is a fast kill with the amount of control decks out soon. Loose him and resort to tactical shifts instead. Some Great Balls would be nice too. See which supporters are entire needed to find some room for three of them.

The stadium seemed to counteract the status lock subtheme since the deck seemed to use the older Poliwrath which was a nice choice since it combines well with Politoed Ex. Lightness Berries work well with the status lock from Ploiwrath and the hit and run subtheme. The deck recieves some additional tactical choices with this tool.

FROG SONG

Hope this provides some initial assistance.

Hi Dark Umbreon,

Thanks for the review. Your suggestion goes with the old Poliwrath which aids in status lockdown while using hit and run scheme. Interesting. I will definitely consider it as one of my deck templates. :)

Hey Cephiro, I was also cosidering a list like this(btw, my deck on here is Fists and Clappers).

I was looking at UFO Eevee and Vaporeon, and it is possible to get Politoed ex out t3 doing 120.

Eevee has the power which is-you attach an energy, and search for the same type of pokemon. So a water would get Vaporeon out.

Vaporeon has an attack called Aqua Supply, which is you attach an energy to one of your pokemon(aka poliwag, or if you Rare Candied into Whirl or toed/wrath). So next turn, you attach, and do it again. This means that at the end of your second turn, you've done 40 damage(Aqua supply does 20, and you did it twice), and have 4 energy in play. The next, Politoed ex can come out and kill.

I was also considering Corsola for evolutions.

And I was considering Yanma. Grand Loop is a bill, and Yanma can move to the bench. It also has a Spinning Tail like attack. You have to flip a coin for it to work, but if it does, then its 20 to all pokemon. It does require a grass energy.

Just my advice.

The main concern I have with the Vaporeon combo is that in case the deck is first and starts with Eevee and Poliwag the combo hands the deck a single turn compared to a start with Poliwag or someone who can be teleported out for it. In the other case the combo in essence breaks even.

hmm this deck seems to be quite good! I have a feeling this is an archetype for the next format.
I dont have many fixes. Maybe try reducing bro to a 2-2 line and adding in 2 Corsola.

Hi Metal Master,

Thanks for your review. You pointed out an interesting tactic but its rather risky in my opinion. But no harm testing it out. :)

Hi hiddenlegion,

I strongly believe it is the new Corsola from EX Unseen Forces which can search out for one of either water or fighting pokemon. This can help getting a good setup with the fighting type Poliwrath. Also it has a second attack which is not bad for a basic. One more point to take note of, Politoed EX is weak against grass not electric.
Anybody has any ideas of how to counter grass? Magcargo?

Change Fluffy Berries to Strength Charms to knock out exs like Steelix ex and Umbreon ex and Tyranitar ex with fighting type Wrath. Fighting type is stronger period!
also, change the Plusles to DX Jirachi. It will be more helpful definitely by getting out evolutions fast. Corsola is also a good choice if Rare holo Jirachi is too diff to get out. just my 2 cents

Your only grass worries are Veunsaur ex and Meganium ex, which are the only two that I've seen of late, probably more of the latter. Shouldn't be any Sceptile to worry about either.

You should make it 3x Politoed ex and 2x Poliwrath, because if one Politoed is prized, that only leaves you one other, which is the one you want to get out. So switch those numbers around.

And maybe add a Surprise! Time Machine or two, so you can get out either one if you need the other.

sadly... poliwrath(unseen forces) would only confuses the opponent when it is knocked out... the japanese poliwrath(unseen forces) would confuses the opponent when it is damaged and even knocked out.... so this card considered errata'd? :frown:

Hi folks,

The japanese version confuses when it is knocked out too. It was a mistake in the original spoiler vincent corrected afterwards. Still a teched Poliwrath UF is fine if you go 3-3 on Politoed and Poliwrath. Only for the Darkness hatred he comes with.

Metal Master... when i looked at the GSSS spoilers... it was stated so...
but Dark Umbreon said that was a mistake made by vincent in the original spoiler...
so the card wasn't errata'd...
