It took forever for me to build my AMU deck, and now half the cards fro, it are being cycled out. I only got to enjoy it for a little more then a year. Now, i'm thinking about legalizing for one more year and wouldn't mind some thoughts and input on my planned deck list.

Pokemon: 19

  1. Mewtwo Lv. X
  2. Mewtwo MD x2
  3. Azelf Lv. X
  4. Azelf LA x2
  5. Mesprit Lv. X
  6. Mespirit LA x2
  7. Uxie Lv. X
  8. Uxie LA x2
  9. Gardevoir PL
  10. Kirlia PL
  11. Ralts PL
  12. Metagross UL
  13. Metang UL
  14. Beldum UL
  15. Jirachi UL

T/S/S: 29

  1. Pokemon Collector x3
  2. Bebe's Search x2
  3. Palmer's Contribution
  4. Level Max x2
  5. Premier Ball
  6. Poke Drawer+ x4
  7. Pokemon Communication x4
  8. Rare Candy x2
  9. SSU x4
  10. Pokemon Reversal
  11. PONT x2
  12. Cynthia's Feelings
  13. Expert Belt x2

Energy: 12

Psychic Energy x12

1. AMU is what it is, of course.
2. Mewtwo Lv. X is SP counter and able to 120 every 2 turns.
3. Metagross UL is to give all my Pokemon free retreat.
4. The lone Reversal is for a possible 'free' prize or to drag a benched DGX into the active spot.
5. Gardevoir PL for powering up the Spirit that needs it most.
6. Level Max for luck-based speed, as i'm fairly lucky.
7. PC's and BS for finding the pokemon I need.
8. Rare Candy to get my stage 2's out as fast as possible.

But, what are your thoughts?

i feel like the deck is very slow, i would totally recommend pont or looker so you have that refresh of cards and use an abundant amount of trainers to search for cards, making pont and lookers very useful. i don't really like flygon in there but if u like it fine. Personally id rather have metagross ul in there or just a couple unown q.

I added 2 PONT to my trainer list, and removed a few other cards. Metagross UL is a great card and I use it in another deck. But, if Diagla G X showed up then his effectiveness would be shut off. >_<

Thanks for the advice!!

I would run either Flygon OR Gardevoir, a Stage 2 tech (Or a stage 2 Lv. X tech) is going to be difficult enough to get out without worrying about a second one. Personally, I'd go with Gardevoir.

Also, if you can, I'd up to 3 Mesprits, and 2 Uxie X's (Since I KNOW everyone just has these lying around - It's not like anyone USES them. :p) I would also take out the BTSes and 1 Psychic energy to run 4 SSU - power locking can REALLY help you, since your opponent's setup is slower.

Hmm. Even more interesting...

Oh, yeahm I definitely can't trade for another Uxie Lv. X. >_< And, since i refuse to spend more then $10 on any singular card, i would need some God-hand luck on pulling them from Booster Packs.

Which, i'll probably try to find next month. <_<

Hmm. I could remove Flygon for Metagross, or remove that line entirely in favor of Gardevoir. But, that still begs the question of what to do against a benched Diagla G Lv. X. (Which half of my league runs and is probably my biggest fear with this deck.) Do you think i should run some Pokemon Reversals?

Depends on how lucky you are with coin flips. ^^ If you flip heads a lot, then yeah.

Another thing you might consider is if you pump up Gardevoir, including 1 or 2 UL Jirachi. Again, it's flippy, but if you flip heads you can pull up to 3 P energy back and put them on Jirachi, and then you can use Gardevoir's Psychic Connect to Supreme Blast every turn. Bench space is a problem though, since you'd have to have out Uxie-Azelf-Mesprit, Gardevoir-Jirachi, making 5 pokemon in play. It'd be wicked if you could get it to work.

Those are the kinds of challenges I like! Plus, if i did run SSU that would help a little with bench space. *actually flipped 4/4 heads in a deck with maxxed SSU on a few occassions.*

I'll try a different deck list later today.

Your strategy still refers to Flygon. :p

I like this build. How does it run? Are you getting set up fast enough?

Yeah, I was too lazy to change the strategy.

Truth be told, this build is still in my head. Before I can actually try it out i'll have to trade fro another set of AMU LA. My original deck, tried and true, had a set of AMU MT and it ran pretty well.

You could download a program like RedShark or Apprentice and try it there. Or just go old fashioned and proxy a bunch. LOL

You don't need another Uxie X if you play more Premier Balls. I was playing a straight AMU for a while until very recently, and what I liked about it was the ability to completely rebuild close to Supreme Blast even after an opponent tried to break it up by knocking out an X. You'll hopefully have one or two backup Pixies on the bench even if you have all the Xs out, and you can just demoralize a person who worked hard to break up the combo with a simple "Bring up the other Uxie, Premier Ball, Level Up .. Oh and Trade Off."

If you're concerned that you can't go lower in Energy, is it because you burn through a lot as things get knocked out? May want to find room for Energy Pickup or Restore (or just a 2nd Jirachi). It helped me repeat Supreme Blasts as well.

Why the 2-1 Mewtwo line? I usually see either 1-1 or 2-2 lines.

Mewtwo X is my main weapon against SP structures, which is the most popular. I only won at Battle Roads because I had 2 Mewtwo on the bench. One was Dragon Rushed and the other was leveled up next turn for the win. I have 2 basics to each of the main lines in here, and no real desire to have more then one of each X, even I did own more then one.

You make some good points, but in this deck it's highly unlikely that i'd have extra pixies on the bench too often. I'd have to devote space to Mewtwo, Metagross, and Gardevoir. Though i have been thinking about adding another Premier Ball or Level Max.

As for energy, I've been paranoid of having less then 10 energy in any deck I made. (Never really tried Gyarados or Kingdra) I have no way to stop powersprays, so I don't want to depend on Jirachi too much and the deck doesn't have a lot of straight draw or energy search prowess, so too few energy would definitely hinder this deck, what with Mesprit/Mewtwo X discarding energy on an almost regular basis. In my past build i was attaching an energy almost every turn and, with Gardevoir's help, keeping Mewtwo/Mesprit fueled despite the heavy discard drawback.

How do those kinds of programs work?
