N's Liberation
[Trainer - Supporter]
You can only play 1 Supporter per turn.
Your opponent draws 1 card. Declare the name of a Trainer - Item card. During your opponent's next turn, they cannot play that card.

It promotes the very thing it is supposed to counter, sadly.
Suppose you play two basics down to avoid the Gust and be able to Candy the other. I now play this and follow it up with a Catcher on basic 1. You cant Candy basic 2, and thus that will get Catcher'd too.
I know, I know, it works both ways, just playing devil's advocate here. The effect itself is highly interesting.

But if he lays down the basics, then plays it himself, stopping your Catcher....

It doesn't necessarily hard counter Catcher, but is is an interesting concept, and something I'd love to see in the game! It seems like quite a skill-based card, and not a mindless one, which I like.

I like this card, but a Catcher counter it isn't. You play it to counter Catcher, your opponent will probably play their own copy to counter Rare Candy and thus you'll need to do it again the next turn. If you run a deck heavy on Stage 1 or Basic Pokemon, its great, but that's really not helping the balance issue from what I read. ;)

How about this?

Following N's Lead
Trainer-Supporter
Show your opponent a Trainer card from your hand and place it in the Lost Zone. Both players must reveal their hands and decks to their opponent and place all copies of the selected card revealed into the Lost Zone.
