It's frustrating enough that they don't have those amazing see through trophies anymore, and that they aren't at the tournament site anymore. . . but waiting several weeks just to receive the most exciting reward of winning a big tournament is kind upsetting. I know I haven't received my medal yet for getting 1st place at a states, and I'm wondering if anybody else has gotten theirs yet.

Thanks, I guess I never got that information. With such a delay, I will be disappointed if they aren't customized (but deep down I know that they won't be. . . )

To be honest it's a memento... I don't see how a few weeks without it will change how much use you get out of it...

Like kamz said, They are supposed to be here mid to late April. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they waited to mail the medals until after regionals. They could just mail both states and regional medals at the same time. Two birds with one stone.

Anyways, I get where you're coming from. I got 2nd and 3rd at my states. I would have really liked it better if they had been on site of the event, but, I don't mind waiting.

Ah yes, "memento."

Remember Jordan hugging the trophy crying? Would that have been dramatic if the trophy came in a month late?

How about hoisting the Lombardi trophy, would that have as much symbolism if it was done a month later?

Or, skating around the rink with the Stanley Cup? Does that make much sense to do a month after winning?

But, after all, its just a memento, why should they do ANY of that...

I think he has a legitimate gripe. By the time it comes in, he's like "Eh, whatever." There IS something about the "moment." That moment is gone. But, professional athletes do like their personalized rings, that is something exciting to get "late."

Thanks for the question. We only heard April and not the mid- to late- part so my son has been checking the mail everyday!

I heard from some posts "early April", which is why I've been checking the mail each day, too. Has there been any official announcement on this? Not getting your States medals before Regionals is a total buzzkill. Not to mention, at this rate it looks like we won't have medals on site in time for Regionals either. We haven't even been released an image for what they would look like!

^TPCi is just busy ruining our format, nothing special.

comparing the Lombardi trophy or the Stanley cup to a state championship medal for pokemon states... :nonono:

It's more comparable to that middle school attendance award, yea, it's kinda nice to see people watch me for a few minutes, but 30 seconds later their attention is gone.

While the lombardi trophy might be overplaying it, I think you're underplaying it. Middle school attendance isn't even an award that most people aspire to get, and it's not something that the only person in the room gets.

For me the worst part is finishing 11 games that took up your entire day and leaving with nothing more than a box of a set that you don't even want. Something just feels kindof empty about it.

idk. i have fun with it. but i also play competitive yugioh, in which the prize support is less than mediocre. not gonna lie, i enjoyed the medals and trophies back when i was in the senior division, but now it is just more stuff cluttering up my room back home.

Yeah; I still haven't received my medal either. Where are they, and when should we expect to receive them? Can anyone answer these questions? Please?

Nothing in the UK yet. Once they arrive they should be dispatched within a week or so. I don't have a date for their arrival :(

Worst case scenario:The ship that was carring them got hit by a tsunami while in port in China.
:(
Still waiting...
I'm expecting sometime around [DEL]June[/DEL] [DEL]July[/DEL]
Worlds...
;P

I hope we don't have to wait that long. The magic of winning a medal is beleaguered somewhat when the object in question is not in your posession. We don't know what they look like even, do we?

Oh, so that's why the medal says made in China on the back in really small writing

jk lol

I don't actually play competitively right now, but it must be HORRIBLE having to wait for months to get something you won quite some time back.
