it sure is alot cheaper than going out and buying the cards.

errrr

i didnt get if that was supposed to be good or bad i buy plenty of cards i just won our local prerelease for dragons i was just asking beacause i do both

Apprentice isn't all that good for playing Pokemon. It was originally designed for Magic, so it isn't really designed for Pokemon. I have had difficulty learning how to use the program, and do not think it is that good. Someone who knows how to write computer programs should make an online TCG program that everyone could use for Pokemon. That would be cool, though I doubt anyone would or could do it.

Oh yeah KNEW many players who PLAYTESTED their decks to perfection on it.

Never did use it tho.

Call me paranoid -_-

well it does take some practice but ive heard rumors that xerocreative the creators of yugioh virtual desktop(i dont play but i have seen it) are planning to make a pokemon virtual desktop and they are very good if you have any questions about the online apprentice league email me at [email protected]

Ugh. Yu-Gi-Oh virtual desktop is an even worse program. Cheap knock off of Apprentice.

Alot of good players use Apprentice, or become competitive after being able to playtest at leasure. I know that many players today do not have a local Pokemon League or some do not wish to attend due to mismangement. Apprentice fills that void, minus promotional cards. But hey, has anyone seen a game worthy promotional card recently?

I'd love to play online. I have Apprentice(set up for both Pokemon and Magic) BUT the most I really get out of it is when one of my friends call up and we play over the phone.) I would love to play though I just can't understand how to navigate around mIRC at all. So I quit trying after awhile and have apprentice on my pc but that's all. If anyone would be willing to help me out just PM me or email me at [email protected]. Thanx. Ah off I go to study for finals. Sarcastically: oh how I love Algebra and U.S History so much.

I know Apprentice inside and out and use it to make decks; in fact, I like the interface (despite it being Magic-centric), but it's too hard for me to find players. I like the whole idea of Apprentice because it gives people the chance to playtest decks, archetypes and rogue alike, before going out to buy/trade to prepare for leagues/tournaments. I have some EON Modified decks on Apprentice that are itching to be tested; if anyone wants to battle me, AIM me at Grioid (I'm currently trying to learn IRC).

Hmm. We didn't have an Apprentice Forum or support it when we were hosted by WotC (since it would have violated their contract) but now that we are independant, would people like a PokeGym Apprentice League or Forum?

I also support an Apprentice forum here. It would make it much easier for people to find battles here, and it would also give an opportunity for people to playtest and have fun.

wow phil awesome idea

nice idea phil it would really help and miRC is kinda dead right now everyone i play i have on my aol messenger

yeah, apprentice forum and league, that'll be nice :).. you can aim me at my sn too, im usually always for a game unless im doing hw.

Sweet deal ^_^

Pojo's apprentice league used to be kicking but now their mirc server and stuff is messed, so I haven't been on a lot. A 'gym Appr league would be nice, and i'm sure many pojo people would be happy to come over for more competition if they already aren't on these boards...

The myleague ladder works nicely for Pojo, we just have to get an mirc chat room to top it all off, forums would be nice in here too.

For all of you that said mirc was hard to use. Its really not. You just download it, install it, and Add a server, then type in the channel you wanna join and you are there.

Apprentice is a little harder to get working since you have to unzip sets and stuff... but its really not that hard either. If anyone has any questions, I'm sure all of us that do have Apprentice would be happy to help you guys out ^_^ Just IM me on aim if you've got any troubles.

And yeah, all of you can IM me for a game if you want, though sometimes I'm busy and can't play, but I'm usually open for some games, especially if I haven't played you before.

Yeah if we were to do this, MIRC and Myleague.com would be musts.

I think this would be a great idea. But again, we'd NEED to have a #pokegym chatroom on some server... preferably irc.creativeirc.net because that's where most of the pojo-er's currently reside.
