Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Are there combos for Rhyperior Lv.X

Delcatty PT puts fightning energy onto the top of your deck so you can hit for between 100-250 damage with hard crush. Only problem is the deck can be pretty sluggish. Run 4 Pachirisu to help set up.

Kingdra is meh... Delcatty is the only reasonable combo for it. I still wouldn't call it competitive, since it's not a hard deck to beat, but hey. :D

Kingdra and RyperiorX work very well together....

It's just brilliant.

Brilliant? <Overstatement. However, it could work in the right hands. Getting two St2s out is tough, though.

I use a minimal set-up in my Rhyperior deck. Farfetch'd/TM TS-1/Call Energy is my usual set up engine, with Phione as a backup. I use the PT Dialga that was already mentioned, not even bothering with Delcatty. And I run 24 energy. I just mill myself, doing 100-150 damage a turn, until late game, strategically dropping Dialga when I need a 1HKO. So far I've had reasonable success with it. I don't usually have anything on the bench during the midgame when I'm doing most of my damage, unless it's another Rhyperior (thanks to BTS), so Luxray doesn't have anything to snipe. If I accidentally discard a Pokemon I need, I run 3 Night Maintenance and 4 Pokemon Rescue, plus Dialga can be used as another sort of Night Maintenance in an emergency.

I only speak with such firm support of something when I have the experience with the idea to validate the claim.

Have you tried it yet?

Regice / Kingra / Felicities gets the energy in the discard while kingdra fights the good fight WHILE the deck gets thinned out.

Then... you run up with a Kingdra for Aqua Stream.

Most of the deck is energy now.

Rhyperior runs up for a no energy attack that averages 200 damage.

That's not theory. I know it works.

As far as "2 stage 2s" go....

uh.. Flygon/Nidoqueen? Gengar/Nidoqueen? Flygon/Machamp?

This happens often now.

I made a fun deck with Rhyperior lv X and infernape lv X. Use rhyperior and drop like 3 or 4 pokes and get fire energy in the discard. Then use infernape to shuffle back and keep doing heavy damage.

I'll admit, Rogue Archetype's ideas never LOOK like they work, but they do! He doesn't toss random ideas out there, you should know him better :p He's actually pretty careful not to do that, he wouldn't wanna be responsible for a newer player coming here for deck ideas trying out a bad deck (Not knowing any better). But for more experienced ones, give it a try before you hate. From my OWN experience, though I never played Rhyperior, I played a 2-2 Octillery in a fun Kingdra variant (And if your deck is almost all energy still you don't have to replenish it because Octillery just tosses 'em back in). If I had to guess, it'd be easier to get out but it's much more flippy. For R_A's buid though, I am curious, how do you cope with Rhyperior's beastly retreat cost if you gotta Aqua Stream again? It can put some crazy hurt on your deck discarding that much IMO (You must be drawing crazy early game too when you're fueling Kingdra).

I honestly think Rhyperior SV has a shot at being competitive material, forrealz. I have a crazy build of it right now, and I'm anxious for BR's to start 'cuz I wanna use it at at least ONE of them!

That solution would be ... Warp Energy ... :) (it still counts for 50 if you discard it for the LvX attack)

Some would say "switch" or "Warp Point" ... but in this deck... use Warp Energy to give the manuever synergy with the deck's strategy.
