Hi guys,

i'm going to worlds with a friend and we arrive at the orlando airport around 4 PM on Wednesday. Are there some shuttle buses that go directly to the Hilton??

As with most aspects of travel, yes you will have to pre-book (and usually pre-pay) for a shuttle from airport to hotel. If you want to wait until you get to the airport, your best bet is a taxi. Unfortunately I don't know the rates. Good luck!
 
I also need transportation to the hotel. I will not make a reservation, thinking that you could walk up and take the shuttle if they have room. I would think that the shuttles are running all day. In 2006, in California I justed walked up and rode in a shuttle no reservation. Also, you might notice other players going to same hotel then you can share a cab. I will try to meet up with some of local league members to cab it. You should call Mears and see if you can just walk up. Good luck.
 
I will go from Miami Airport directly to the Hilton and i will take a bus called Greyhound, it is really cheaper for students and i can take the bus without a reservation, i will buy the tickets in the moment. Is a really good service for my opinion. =)

I do not believe you must make a reservation. You can take a taxi without it also. We did this in Ohio for Nationals, and we just walked up to the taxi stand and the next available taxi came and got us.

The Hilton PROBABLY has a shuttle service for it's guests. I would try calling them NOW and asking if they could have someone available to pick you up.

My brother and his family just came back from Orlando and stayed at the Hilton. They took Mears taxi and price is exactly the same whether you walk up or book ahead.

as far as i can tell from their website there IS no hotel shuttle provided by the hilton. there is no mention of such a thing on the 'transportation/directions' page.

Hilton definitely does not offer a free shutlle to the hotel. You do not have to reserve with Mears, they allow walk ups. I made the calls to both places.

I've used Mears a few times, and they are notorious for being VERY late. The driver and the staff are always friendly, but sometimes they make you wait for quite a while before getting you where you need to go.

A Taxi will get you where you're going faster, but probably is more expensive. So I suppose the best course of action would be based on what time you're coming in.

Not always, some places don't want to deal with that, so they don't have pre-bookings. You can't pre-book the Mears Shuttle.

There is no Hilton Shuttle from the airport. There is one to Disney, but that isn't going to help you get to the Hilton after you land in Orlando which is about 20 minutes away. :tongue:

Haha yeah, I forgot that 10 miles in Orlando is nearly half an hour drive.

I thought the Hilton should have a Hotel because I've stayed at smaller hotels(IE: Motel 6, Knight's Inn...) in other states that do have shuttles for their guests. I've been to other Hilton's even that picked me up from another hotel to make it to a conference at a Hilton.

I suppose the Hilton doesn't need it to boost business, being next to Disney.
