ATJdragon's 1st Place BC Provincials Report
I decided to run Luxchomp a few days before (like Wed). Nothing particular special, just some preference cards.
The tournament only had 45 masters, so brutal. the TO also decided to have only 5 rounds (as opposed to the correct 6) so going x-1 isnt an absolute guarantee to top cut (aka 1 guy gets screwed over). oh well, just gotta go 4-1 right?

Round 1: Luxchomp vs Khen's Cursegar
I actually have a pretty good hand with cyrus going 2nd. then.....he uses looker. fine, i draw cyrus off looker, he setsup with spiritomb on his gengar/claydol. i start setting up my garchomp & bronzong preparing for the claydol ko....then his turn he gets a SECOND looker's on me, i couldnt believe it....but he still couldnt attack. my hand is now total trash, i was choked but i had one way to win.....
he attached unown Q to spiritomb the previous turn so....i was to galactic switch the DCE to chatot and just chatter till time where i shoudl have a garchomp setup. GREASY (obviously), but as long as he doesnt run warp energy im good to go.
long story short, he has the warp energy and i lose lol

Round 4: Luxchomp vs Malcolm's Cursegar
Long story short, he has a terrible hand and i snipe all his setup despite spiritomb.
3-1.
Round 5: Luxchomp vs Seb Teh's Luxchomp
Mirrors are the most boring **** ever. I get Cyrus off first and he has 3 basic energy prized when he tries to use Cyrus. Thus he cant keep up with the prize race and i end up winning.
4-1.
Based on the way the final round worked out, 1 4-1 was gonna miss. seeing as I lost R1, my tiebreakers were TERRIBLE. my tiebreaks were 3-2, 3-2, 2-3, 2-3, 2-3. aka 48%. i was very scared that it wasnt enough for t8 and i woulda QQd if i was the x-1 that got screwed over. Standings are posted...
Im in 7th! 9th place had a tiebreaker of 42%. thank god. I play another mirror in the T8.
Top 8: Luxchomp vs Karl's Luxchomp
G1: I have an absolutely atrocious start, i open with quagsire and no drawpower, i give up early prizes and have to mimic to get some cards going. That being said, i was only behind 2 prizes. Eventually, my opponent misuses his bench space with 2 Uxie and Azelf, and crobat g benched. i eventually storm back and take the 5th prize before he does. He then uses GarchompX to Dragon Rush my Garchomp C. Prizes Tied, 5-5. He has no energy on the board except for a call on Garchomp that just used dragon rush. I have spray in hand with sufficient SPs, a chatot on bench with a DCE and a luxray. Im absolutely certain he cant 1-shot uxie so i use Zen Blade for 60. His turn, he attachs energy to Garchomp and announces Dragon Rush. I tell him he cant use it twice in a row. fail. My turn, i have luxrayX w/ lightning and gain for game. Instead, i push up Chatot with the DCE, attach Belt and Chatter for game!
G2: I have another absolutely horrible start and am 2 prizes behind the whole game. Time is called when he has 1 prize left and i have 3, i just scoop and go to sudden death.....
G3: I open Luxray, Bebe, Lighting, Garchomp, Psychic, DCE, and SP Radar. OH MY GOD. I was gonna put chomp as my active then i noticed karl was upset with his opener so i switched it to luxray and choose to go first. he has crobat, SICK. I attach DCE and pass. (i totally forgot luxray had bite). he has a terrible hand as well, he searches for Promocroak (i guess cause it has 90 hp?) and pushes it to active and passes. I bebe for luxrayX, attach lightning, then trash bolt for game.
5-1.
Top 4: Luxchomp vs Mel's Jumpluff/Gengar
G1: I Open an absolutely atrocious hand (i also open azelf)....but mel also opens an atrocious hand. mel misplayed badly (he requested that i not divulge the epicly fail misplay) and eventually loses once i get cyrus off of setup.
G2: I Open a good hand and start chasing prizes, eventually mel is able to manually build a gengar but by by then he was too far behind. Apparently he misplayed, but i couldnt set alot from my side. I luxrayX the crobat G, attach DCE and belt for game.
6-1.
Top 2: Luxchomp vs Bernie's Cursegar
G1: I open ridiculous and snipe all his setup as it gets played
G2: See Game 1.
7-1. Provincial Champion! SSSSSSSIIIIIIICCCCCKKKKKKK
Im pretty happy obviously, first round bye is gonna be soooo sick.
