well ive been trying to catch latios lately, and im getting frustrated. I have no idea how i put up with this when i caught the legendary dogs in g/s, i have a lvl 40 bellosom with sleep powder and a quick claw, which, if i ever find that nuisance, i can put him to sleep and finally catch him.

I was wondering, does anyone have thier own strategy to catching latios, and what pokemon should i use.
not many guys have reliable sleep inducing moves

Basicly i just got his HP down low and every time i ran in to him i would thorw a ultraball at him intill i got him. yes took some time, but i got him.

this is risky, but worth a try. have a really powerful crobat to start up, and mean look him. or umbreon even. then heal, as you are damaged, and slowly whittle down its health with dark-type moves. then throw ultra balls till you get him.

First off, have you actually spotted it? Or are you still looking?

If you havent come across it, you can trick it into you dex for tracking. How? Well, it requires a Record mix with someone else who has already caught it. If it is in their partym then when you go to their secret base, you can battle it, and once defeated, it will be in your Pokedex... track it....

Luckily, unlike the dogs of the last game, if you run into a wild Pokemon while in the same area as the Lati, it will not move to the next area, so you dont have to use Repels, but they do help! Breloom with Spore, or a Pokemon with Mean Look (Or Wobbers with its abilty) work the best... Sableye is one of the best, Mean Look it, and it should be unlikely to hit you (assuming it only has Psy attacks, I know this is true of the lvl 50 Eon Ticket one.) then use Night Shade to wittle it down...

And how would you use Umbreon??? Even if you have FR/LG or even Colesuem, most people dont have access to them... I do, but not everyone does yet.

I generally use my Master Ball on this Pokemon, since al the others I can save in front of and keep retrying...

Hey. Use a Wynaut to catch it, or a Trapinch. Your Wynaut prevents pokemon away. If you use a trapinch, be sure to use the ones that have the ability, "Arena Trap." Try to use very weak attacks to bring it's HP down. Hopes that helps. (I used a level 37 Wynaut to capture Latias in my Sapphire Game.)

He simply meant that Arena Trap wouldnt work, because it doesnt work against Pokes that are part Flying or have the abilty Levitate.. just like Spikes, they simply ignore it....

Like spectreon said, use wobbuffet. Just keep mirror coating until it's in the red ( look at the pecent of hp it losses, so you don't knock it out.), then throw ultra balls (about 25) then switch to timer. I caught latios the first time I found it ( though wobbuffet got knocked out I had a wyanut[give wobb leftover]). Good luck.
