My newest deck. I started out to make an Electric deck, and ended up with this. LMK what you think!

Pokemon (16):
2 Chansey (Base) [Cleaner.]
1 Cleffa (Genesis) [Hand changing.]
3 Electabuzz (Base) [Quick hitter.]
2 Elekid (Genesis) [Attack without Energy.]
2 Natu (Skyridge) [Energy removal, evolve to Xatu.]
2 Scyther (Jungle) [Anti-Baby, especially anti-Tyrogue.]
2 Tyrogue (Discovery) [The Smash Punching fiend!]
2 Xatu (Skyridge) [Similar to Scyther, discard rescue.]

Trainers (30):
2 Bill [Oracle combo, card drawing.]
2 Energy Charge [Discard rescue -- Special Energy.]
3 Energy Removal [Energy Removal. 'Nuff said.]
2 Focus Band [The old "banded Baby" defense.]
3 Gold Berry [Healing.]
2 Gust of Wind [Choose their Active.]
3 Lass [Trainer denial.]
3 Nightly Garbage Run [Discard rescue.]
2 Oracle [Deck searching.]
2 Professor Oak [Card drawing.]
3 Sabrina's Gaze [Hand changing, hand disruption.]
2 Switch [Choose my Active.]
1 Town Volunteers [Discard rescue.]

Energy (14):
4 Double Colorless Energy [Chansey, Scyther, and Xatu.]
3 Grass Energy [Scyther, miscellaneous.]
7 Lightning Energy [Electabuzz, miscellaneous.]

Strategy: The only "big hitter," per se, in this deck is Chansey. However, my main hitters are Electabuzz, Tyrogue, and (sorta) Xatu. Each can do 30 damage (and in 'Buzz's case, up to 40) for a fairly cheap cost that I can pay by turn 2. Scyther can use Swords Dance to do 60 (goodbye, Sneasel), and Xatu has a Recycle built into its attack (coin flip to topdeck a card from the discard pile). All can OHKO a Baby, with only a flip for the Baby Rule. Backup strategies are Elekid and Tyrogue for early damage, Natu for Energy removal, and Chansey as cleaner. Other than Electabuzz (2), Retreat Costs max out at 1, making switching Pokemon fairly painless.
I know a lot of the "classic" Trainers for Unlimited (like SER, Computer Search, and Item Finder) are missing, but I only had 1 of each available, so I went with other cards with similar, if differently powered, effects.

Methinks your knowledge on the rules are a bit out of date. ;)

Sadly, metal energy no longer provides any sort of beneficial effect to ANYTHING other than a Metal Pokemon. No reduced damage done to, or by the Chansey.

The only comment I have on the deck is that a 2/2 settup of Bill/Oracle does NOT sound like it'd be a good idea. If playtesting proves otherwise, then go for it. I would actually suggest computer search.

I use Bill/Oracle because I have one Computer Search that's not in my other deck; end of story. Still, it's actually fairly effective. The main upside is this: if I used two Computer Searches to get two cards, a total of 6 cards have to leave my hand (the two Computer Searches and the 4 cards needed to use them). With Bill/Oracle, 2 cards leave my hand and I use my Supporter slot. The only other Supporter in this deck is a single Town Volunteers, making that all but inconsequential.
I would use Unown N for this deck (nobody mentioned it, but I thought I would), but 40 HP + Pokemon Power = Pichu bait. Then again, with all my methods for killing Babies, it might not be such a bad idea.;) What do you think?
I had always wanted to try a Metal Chansey deck, then when I finally got the cards for it, it didn't work anymore! :(:(

Made one change today:

-1 Electabuzz
+1 Unown N

Yes, I know that Unown N fits the classic formula of 40 HP + Pokemon Power = Pichu bait, but that's actually one of its roles. Lure Pichu out for a Zzapp, then counterattack with one of my many reliable Baby killers. Of course the other is Chansey support -- Chansey + Unown N + Gold Berry + Double Edge = 80 damage to Defending + discard Gold Berry + 10 damage to Chansey. Next turn, if I play my cards right, I attach another Gold Berry (or the same one, with Item Finder) and lather, rinse, repeat.

well, why not try Chansey EX. 1 less energy, 20 less to self. The only draw back is GB isnt taken inot account after initial Double Edge. 60-30 leaves 30, 10 under GB requiirement. Nice healing attack though, very usefull against Pichu if you can flip heads through baby

Two reasons. First, I don't want to use an ex when the non-ex version works just fine. Second, I don't have any. I own exactly one ex Pokemon -- a single Mewtwo ex, which I'm using in another deck.

I am a little hesitant on the less damage it does to itself, simply cause like I stated, EX sits there with a Berry and 30 damage, where as Old School gets 10 damage and no Berry.

Could try this, Sprout Tower. Works like Metal used to. Chansey does 50/20......... Or EX (I know you dotn have any, I dont either and I want him) does 50/0

Think about it this way. At the end of the sequence as I have it, Chansey has 10 damage out of 120 HP, or 110 HP left. On average, even Sneasel with a full-bench backup and 2 Darkness Energies needs 5 heads to KO Chansey, which means I've got about a 1 in 8 chance of losing Chansey. It's a lot easier (1 in 3) for the same Sneasel to finish off Chansey ex while it has the 90 damage and Gold Berry, which means my opponent just took two prizes and I wasted a perfectly good Gold Berry. I'd rather take a smaller chance of my opponent only gaining one prize, and me losing a Pokemon and a few Energy cards, than a larger chance of my opponent getting 2 prizes and me wasting a Gold Berry, in addition to losing a Pokemon and usually one less Energy card, if that, than in the previous situation. If I had something (other than Xatu) that could bring back discarded Trainers, I'd be even more confident -- I wish I had even one Item Finder available, but I don't. Still, Xatu can bring back a lost Gold Berry if I need it to, and get just a little lucky.

Sprout Tower I have, but it just feels to me like a waste to reduce Double Edge's damage by 30, when the whole appeal of the attack is that I can do 80 damage while only taking 10 on turn 2, with the right setup.

Well, as most of us know, Unown N doesn't do much for Chansey anymore! The Nintendo ruling is that Unown N only stops your OPPONENT'S damage. I know it stinks, but that's the new ruling! Nintendo has now taken most of the cheap yet strategic combos out of the game...

What?! Unown N doesn't work anymore? It's a conspiracy, I tell you! Could I get one of the authorities to confirm this?

I'm still waiting for confirmation that the Unown N combo no longer works. If it's true, I'll drop Unown N for a third Oak. I would also appreciate any additional comments or fixes.

Well, I know one guy who could confirm it for you. He's on this site, but I don't know his username. If any user goes to the Kettering, OH League, pm me.

This guy's been to Origins, GenCon, and he's won many pojo tournaments. I think he's just high enough to confirm it for you.

I hope you're right, HYPER EEVEE. I can see no reason that it wouldn't work -- Chansey is a (C) Pokemon, and is damaging one of your Pokemon (namely itself). Ergo, it meets the conditions of Unown N's Power, and Unown N reduces the damage. That is the exact reasoning used in the Compendium's ruling on this exact issue, just paraphrased by me. Nowhere in Unown N's Power is anything said about who owns the (C) Pokemon. If opponent's Pokemon were meant, opponent's Pokemon would have been written. I lost the chance to play Metal Chansey, but I refuse to lose the chance to play Chansey!

Chansey can still be played to stall. Anyway, his username is YoungJohn06 I just found that out. I saw this rule on pojo, and he's on pojo.

The point is that I don't want Chansey's main purpose to be stalling. It's my cleaner, but I can't use it that way if I can't reduce the damage it does to itself -- too risky.
