Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Battle Frontier Compliance Center

ill have to go with magcargo's knock over or counter stadium

as for the scott argument, i like it in my deck well atleast 2 i hope, i think it depends on your tactics. just for some info i play in the Philipphines and most players here dont use swoop teleporter, suprise time machine and atm rock which i think are great cards (especially atm rock havent seen anyone use it except for me), its not that they dont have it, they just dont appreciate its power. again for me the bottomline is we all have different tactics

ok, I have seen about enough of this thread. Battle frontier is a good card but its not the end all card that people think it is. pidgeot will still be as good as ever because of scott. I am testing 3-4 scott in my decks. It slows you down but it is one of the most flexible cards out there. vs. battle stadium, search out 2 stadiums and another scott. then you need draw cards. pull out stevens or if your opponent has a huge hand copycat. if you switch pidgeot out for cargo then look for tv reporters or some simple draw to draw your top. With scott you can drop all your normal draw cards down to 2 and stick in 3 scott. I now run 2 stevens, 2 copycat, 2 tv reporter, and 3 scott. It gives you the most flexibility and no more top decking a stevens only to draw into 3 energy and have no more draw in your hand. I would guess that scott is the most under rated cards in the set, maybe not, time and testing will tell. I do think that ideas like tauors are no good. I could never justify putting in 2 pokemon whos only job is to take out a stadium that will have 3 at most in a well built deck. Why not run normal castform? I'll tell you why, it is a waste of space. If you want to play it because its your favorite pokemon than more power to you, but I just don't see it have any real power in a format defined by speed and raw power.

So all you do is take out the 2-1-2 line of Pidgeot, and add a 3-2 or a 2-2 line of Magcargo. I'm playing Ludiot, and I'm switching to LudiCargo only because of BF. Magcargo also doubles up, you can use Knock Over or QS for a counter stadium. (I love when I can do 2 Quick Searches in the same turn.)

Im just playing 2 Stadiums and 1 Magcargo (he can discard stadiums too) to counter BF. But I use 1 Delcatty and 1 Team Aqua's Manetrike (Dark) too =/. Its that good?

Countering Vileplume

Rocket's Raikou ex - Makes your opponent switch out Vileplume. Easily splashable if your deck has dark pokemon, which is probably why you need to be able to stop BF. Be sure to get him going before your opponent has two Vileplume out though. A good choice for Rock Lock and Dragtrode.

Muk ex - Get him active and Vileplume gets shut down.
Unless they have errattad Rocket's Raikou ex then your opponent chooses which bench they would switch out so the chances of them sending out the Vileplume unless it is there only Pokemon.

the card is undoubtly good. theres no definite counter. i have been looking to use magcargo and its ok but it just sits there with 3 retreat afterwards. unless you get a warp point/switch/balloon berry. most decks could just cut back on some cards and up the countergym factor. in ft i find rock-lock is still good with a counter gym or 2 BUT you need cargo/tv/stevens combo.i dont think people would play more than 2-3 in a deck anyways so at least 2 gyms and a cargo would do it.

I think BF is not the end of the world and of the Pokemons that it affect (Pidgeot, Delcatty, etc), ppl can still runing them and just have 2 stadiums too.

I meant you use Raikou to make them switch Vileplume for something else so you can play a countergym.

Battle Frontier is such a destructive card, it possibly shattered the metagame of the US but maybe it can regain stability with scott, then rock-lock and dragtrode have chances.

Many people say BF can't change the game, you're wrong IMO. It can and it will. If you don't see it now, you'll see it later, when the regionals are over.

I like the raikou idea, I have to playtest this. I hope it works well not only on paper...

And as much as I hate to admit it, rock lock is going downhill fast. Milotic Ex. Battle Stadium. Vileplume EX. Rock-locks will have a tough time countering all these things, and maintain speed. =(

There is still many options for people to play just R-L is on a downward spiral like blaze had when Mt. Moon came out. Though BF is a great card, many decks can easily get around it or through it because there are so many ways to get it out of play, including countering it.

BF will change the metagame but no matter what, Dragtrode can live on with the correct cards, like scott and counter stadiums which desert ruins is good for!

Personally, there's more than the common decks that people have to watch out for.

Colorless and dark power decks that are not reliant on powers (like my specific Aqua deck) are not affected at all by Battle Frontier. Then, of course, there's Shiftry decks which will steal on Battle Frontier because of Stadium Power and Dark Shiftry doesn't get affected.

Personally, I have my own Stadium, but if you play a Battle Frontier, no Pidgeot thank you. I use Magcargo or Aqua's Conspirator.

Magma's still a question mark, but since it uses little energy and runs counter stadiums anyway it could get around it pretty fast.

Battle Frontier stops:

Pidgeot
Delcatty
Dark Tyranitar
Dark Ampharos
Dark Electrode
Dark Dragonite
Dark Dragonair
Salamence
Salamence ex
Slaking
Team Magma's Claydol
Team Aqua's Manetric
Aerodactyl ex
Metagross
Dark Crobat
Dark Slowking
Togetic
Altaria
Altaria ex

Team Magma's Claydol and Team Aqua's Manetric are not stopped, they can use maxie/archie to get out of the battle frontier's way due to it saying Evolved pokemon who are dark/colorless/metal.

Um, maybe I'm missing something, but the same Magcargo that has smooth over also has the ability to get rid of stadiums, doesn't it? A bit of quick swapping from your bench to Active for one turn could knock out the stadium.

True he does, but is it really worth taking the clear risk of getting your main search pokemon knocked out?

Look at that risk you have to run due to switching it, yeah it can get that stadium away but they can take it out right after you attack

Eh, that's why you run switch cards and more than one Magcargo?
