Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Battling Forum - Anyone Interested

Or other such circumstances.

Apprentice wouldn't install on PMaster's. Mine took forever to download and it didn't function properly after the install. Plus all the extra signups are complete hassles. Some people can't use AIM, it bugs up their computers so much it just plain doesn't function. Heck, every time I need to print something, I have to turn AIM off. So this is a common ground. If you have Apprentice on your side of the game, use it in solitare mode.

The real point of this is, this is a way to test new decks and get ready for upcomming tournaments like City Champs and the like. If you can't find out how your deck will perform against various people, how will you win? It would be by chance alone. And have you ever had to cancel a battle in real life or AIM just because someone has to leave? This would let you stop where you are in the game and return to it at a later time.

*gets up on soapbox* I'm not saying its perfect, there is the waiting period, the cheating risks, the sometimes unspecific stats of Pokemon (that one we're trying to work out), but I think that the benefits are much better! WE ALL HAVE THE SAME DREAM, TO BECOME THE WORLD CHAMPION OF THE POKEMON TRADING CARD GAME, AND TO BECOME THAT, WE MUST PERFECT OUR STRATEGIES AND OUR SPORTSMANSHIP!! SINCE THIS IS WHAT WE MUST DO, WHAT BETTER PLACE TO TRAIN THEN HERE, WHERE MANY TRAINERS GROUP TO CONVERSE.!!! IF WE ARE TO BECOME THE POKEMON MASTERS OF THE WORLD, LET US BEGIN OUR JOURNEY HERE, NOW, WITH ALL OUR FRIENDS AND OPPONENTS RIGHT HERE WITH US!!!! That is all. *gets off of soapbox*

Oh please, tech support is just a bunch of telemarketing loosers that go through a list of basic problem solving acts that you've already done. They make you do them over again and say that this is beyond their expertice and refer you to another tech support person that puts you through the same motions and you never get anything done. I say when it comes to computers, if you can't fix it yourself, get something that will work right the first time. (if you haven't guessed, I've had a bad experience with tech support people before. Heres a tip: Don't download AIM Beta versions.)

And thank you Venusaur.

On a related note, has an apprentice program been developed for Macintosh? I was told on Wizpog some months ago that there was no such thing. I tried to install it anyways and it failed.

I'd just like to add my support for this battling forum; I'd play modified.

For those of you against this, what difference does it really make to you if this forum is created? You don't have to use it.

It doesn't matter. If we can get all trainers onto one system, the better the diversity of the players. If you have an internet connection, you can get to PokeGym, and you don't need system requirements, like you do with Apprentice. And AIM can be even worse, so why not join all on one system, here at the Pokegym.

i agree with aron and if we cant get apprentice how else are we going to play against other players besides im or on this board and as aron said aim is a little difficult to do

espeon, most people can make apprentice and the pathc work, probably about 90-95%...
But the problem is, no where does it describe how to actually hook up the patch, and most people screw up on that.
I know for about a week i couldn't understand what to do, but someone showed me how to hook it up correctly..
Maybe if you get better descriptions as to how to put it together you could play on apprentice...

Well, Like in your Pmaster Battle (I think Pmaster sounds cooler, sorry Penguin, lol). I think it is a good idea. Sure I could get App, and I have AIM, and even after I do finally decide to download App, I would still use this too. Sure it is longer, but it gives you a more diversity of players. That is a good thing, no matter which way you slice it.

Oh and I would mostly play Modified, my Unlimited deck is near perfect, with little fidgeting needing to be made. (it only loses on bad flips and or to simular decks), but I might stumble over every once in a while to try out new Unlimited ideas

Sure, maybe 90-95% of people can get apprentice, but what about the other 5-10% ? Isn't that why were trying to get a battling forum, for people who can't get apprenice or aim. As for not being sure about cheating, how is AIM any better? I don't remember who, but someone here said that cheating is only hurting themselves. I can't see why anyone would cheat, other than to say they one, and even if they win, nobody here is really going to acknowledge it, except for maybe a "yeah, you won. From what I have seen at the pokegym, nobody here would cheat.

On Appr not working (For you Winxx people, sorry mac users) did you try putting Cardinfo.dat into the Sets folder, with everything else in the root (probably C:\apprentice)? That's what worked with me for... three, four patches now. If not, well...

As much as I don't like the format, I'd play EXxon.

Hate to put a cork on that Ladder Idea boys, but I think we should hold off on the tourneys until we get all the bugs worked out in the system. That is, if we get the Forum at all remember. We need to gague the popularity before we can throw tournaments.
