Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Best Deck to Build for a Starter Player

Hello, I am seeking advice for a good deck for my father to play. He is a starter and knows a little bit about the game. (ex. trainers, energy, etc.) I need a new deck for him because it really doesn't help much playing my Plasma deck or my brothers Darkrai/Dusknoir. I am looking for a casual deck that uses evolution and decent attackers. Keep in mind that I can trade for virtually anything from this tier. He is not looking to play in any big leagues or events, just as a casual deck to gain experience. All advice is welcome and feel free to post deck ideas and lists. Thanks a lot for reading and good Luck!

Tool Drop is pretty straight forward. as long as you can read the tools its pretty much attack energy and attack

4 Tool drop Trubbish
3 Toolbox Sigilyph
1 Safeguard sigilyph
2-2 Masquerain

4 Juniper
3 N
1 Bianca
1 Colress

4 Bicycle
4 Exp Share
4 Eviolite
3 Silver Mirror
3 Silver Bangle
3 Float Stone
2 Random Reciever
1 Super rod
1 Dowsing Machine

2 DCE
8 Psychic

Trying to build something lesser than that such as Reshiboar

If you made a blastoise deck you could implement almost all sorts of stratedgies for him/her. Such as abilities and evolutions and sacrificing cards with juniper. Also retreating in order to retrieve energy rather than switching or rushing in.
You could also use phiome for pull out attack to teach about taking out of discard

Sorry if you dont like my idea or reasons, just trying to help out

EDIT: sorry didnt see the word father

Plasma, you can buy the whole deck through lugiaEX, thundurusEX and deoxysEX tins, this deck has won and topped various tournaments, there is a lot of blogs about the deck, overall, its a very good and very affordable/easy to attain deck, and the simpler it's built the better.

I have a very good Plasma deck myself. I have even won a tournament or two. I am looking for a Basic deck that uses evolution. Like I said in my first post.

if you want a evolution heavy deck the delphox in the new set will work good with emboar and reshirams. It's relatively straight forward to build too.
2-3 reshiram
3-1or2-3 emboar
3-1or2-3 delphox

whatever trainers you have

And 10-12 fire energy

Here's what delphox does
Delphox - Fire - HP140
Stage 2 - Evolves from Braixen

Ability: Mystical Fire
Once during your turn (before your attack), you may draw cards until you have 6 cards in your hand.

[C][C][C] Blaze Ball: 50 damage. This attack does 20 more damage for each [R] Energy attached to Delphox.

Weakness: Water (x2)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 2

Okay great. I think this deck will work good. I have plenty of trainers to build this type of deck. Thanks for your advice

If you are looking for an "off the shelf" deck, the Red Genesect deck is a pretty good one. For a preconstructed deck, it has some good trainers and a solid supporter line.

Evo line decks

Empoleon/leafeon (this deck gains ground on both type advantage against emboar and stoise),
greninja/dusknoir (If you're familiar with chandelure from black and white, it works along the same lines however it's attack is 1 energy for 50, float stone and switch can let you hit upwards of 140 to the active, I have heard of people building greninja with delphox, possibly getting both is good for a play set in the future and seems like the mid tier casual deck that could be some fun to play),
