Best Leaf Green Starter?

hmm....I'd say Blasty personally, but Charizard is good too...

Yeah Charizard isn't bad but How do you defeat the first two gym leaders with him?

I Went through the game with a blastoise and a farfetch'd.

blastoise learns surf and strength-good attacks while going through the game
and farfetch'd learns cut and fly. needed for game play.

so, if you are going to make a "Speed" run, or want a level 100 before you beat the eliete 4,

your blastoise will have surf,strength,ice beam and earthquake.

i went through the game, including the elite 4, with only a blastoise (farfetche'd is never used other than 2-on-2)

well, thats my choice-blastoise,

You grab a caterpie raise it to level 10 for brock and confusion the geodude and onix to death pretty simple for that part.

you grab a pikachu in viridian forest to beat misty with...

Grab a mankey on the route to the elite 4 for lt. surge....

Thats how you beat thr first 3 gyms with charizard LOL thats what I do =)

I'm fond of squirtle and bulbasaur for the best starters charizard is overrated ;P
