Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Best/Worst Pokemon Games

1) I don't know that it's fair to call My Pokémon Ranch a "game."
2) AHAHAHAHAHA THEY SAID POKÉMON DASH AHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAH

Gold and Silver (and I guess by default Crystal, even if I never played it) are the best in the series for me. Being able to go into both Johto and Kanto made it for me. Although the idea has now expired, what they should have done with D/P was if you had an R/S/E cart in the GBA slot, you could go back into that world too and wander around. Surely it wouldn't have been that hard to pull the map data off that cart and just re-render it in 3D using the same tileset. Heck, even if it was left as is, but D/P passed on some of the new Pokémon into the old world so you could see them there too.

So yeah. G/S was the pinnacle of the series IMO. Not to say that D/P isn't still good, I just prefer GSC.

Out of the ones I've actually played, here's what I think.

1. Pokemon Gold (and Silver): Yeah, this was a FANTASTIC game, more than worthy of being one of the best RPGs of all time. You all know about the crazy innovations and changes that were put into this game. But, and this is the single most important aspect of this game, IT'S FUN!!! It's the most FUN game out of the entire series. This is created through one of the best balanced levelup systems designed thus far, the best capture sequence in any of the games, and the best balance of the new Pokemon and new Types. Not to mention the attack split. Not to mention the most complex and riveting Rivals in the history of this game. Yep, best game in the series, hands down.

2. Diamond and Pearl: After the disappointment that was RS, DP really stepped up and delivered. The best story in any of the games, with the most well thought out characters and the best version of the battling system thus far. The thing that makes this game not as great as GS is that it's not as deep of a story experience, even though the short story is better than that in GS.

After this, there's a bunch of games that just sorta sit there and take up space. I can't order them based on their generation, but I can say that Yellow > Red/Blue, simply because it was deeper. FRLG were good, but I can't put them above the original games. RS was decent, but a MASSIVE disappointment after the brilliance that was the GS series. Crystal was just plain bad, especially following the insanely good GS because it was just too darn easy and there wasn't enough new stuff to warrant a new purchase. Emerald was better than RS, but I don't think as good as Yellow (but that might be nostalgia talking there). All of the Mystery Dungeon games were bad at best. Ranger was pretty decent, but got VERY repetitive, and was very difficult to pick&play, especially the later stages. Both of the Stadium games were terrible *games*, but great *sims*.

I had to agree with the link on all the Games. I have most, but some i didn't even bother getting (Dungeons specifically) Pokemon is about Raising and Battling Pokemon. I know they try to Branch out for other things, but most ideas just don't work. What i'd like to see is an RPG Pokemon on the Wii like the DS games with way more storyline. Colosseum and Gale of Darkness were ok. But were short and lacked any real RPG game Play. The Ranch is only good for Storage, everything else is a waste of time.

This is a rumor and there is evidence that in Pokemon DP you were meant to go back to kanto/johto.

Evidence:

Unobtainable items in Pokemon DP:

S.S. Ticket (kanto revisit maybe)
magma stone (stark mountain, never obtained)
contest pass (hoenn revisit maybe)
red chain (mount c. never obtained)

people:

prof. oak (visits from kanto)
jasmine (visits from johto)

plus there were hidden maps in the game that looked very familier to kanto and johto, and there were hidden people
eg. brock (meant to appear at mount c. and roarks city) gold (maybe in kanto or johto)

btw DP is set at the same time as GS

Umm... wait... they say XD Gale of Darkness is one of the worst.... what about

POKEMON CHANNEL
AND
HEY YOU PIKACHU?

Why didn't they mention those. Agreed with everything else, but these two should have been on there in place of XD.... Pure garbage.

And what about Snap? I loved that game and they never mentioned it, very unique and a lot of fun.

i agree that Pokemon channel was horrid, but i enjoyed hay you pikachu. sure, i was a kid then, but it was unique and the first game to feature a mic.

but my top 3 pokemon games are:
1.Pokemon Gold/Silver
2.Pokemon Diamond/Pearl
3.Pokemon FireRed/LeafGreen (did not care for ru/sa/em that much)

XD and Colosseum were great games, not the worst at all. Especially how in C the opponent's were constantly higher leveled than you, so you have to think more, not send out 1 Pokemon and sweep all and get all the EXP.

^ defiantly! I think that RSE was a really bad game, I hated it. The text was horrible, it was too easy, etc. Gold was my second game, and I have to say, was so fun. I just loved it.

Colisseum was just plain amazing! It was my first 3D Pokemon game, so it was so cool to see 3D battling!

But, yeah, with a lack of a storyline, PBR fails at life.

umm my fav is probs GSC but... RBY woz good especially red and blue i mean wiv all those glitches!!! hahahaha that woz hilarious. but ya probs GSC.

Snap wasn't Great either. Take Pictures? I never bothered to get that one either. Just by looking at them, you could tell it wasn't going to be a big hit. How about Pokemon Trozei? Fun at first, but gets boring after a while.

It sounds like you never played Snap... just buy it now, it is like a $3 game these days, unless you want to download it on Wii for $10. I know it sounds lame but it is one of my favorite games. There is nothing else like it, and it has great replay value. Plus I like the unique music in it, One of those games that's fun to pop in every once in a while. I seriously wish that they'd make a new one. I'm not the kind of person that buys games day one except for like Brawl, but this would be one of those very few games I'd get immediately.

IMO the 3 best pokemon games are

1.Gold and Silver GBC...Ahh the good old days of Gold and silver, I remember getting this game when i was like 7 and oh i played and played i clocked over 900 hours in the 2 years before i lost them i found them recently but they corupted.... :( that was the best experience ive ever had with pokemon

2.Pokemon Snap N64/Wii VC... when i was little i didnt show as much respect to this game as i should have i pulled out my N64 back in april and sat down to really have a good look at this game... i beat it over and over 4 times untill i got bored but i think that game is just amazing! i found it was on the VC i went NUTS! that game will always hold a spot in my top games!

3. Pokemon Red and Blue GB... Ahh what cant i say about this game? it was truely the begining of a new life style for me all though i was like 5 when i first played it i still had fun watching my Charizard Burninate some caterpries then being able to bring my pokemons from R and B to G and S was an amazing feature thanks to my trusty Link Cable i remeber we tried 7 link cables and mine was the only one that could trade a mew! thank the lord! thank you pokemon for helping me grow up to be the true nerd i am today! hey my new Girlfriend might actually take some interest to!

Runner Ups!

Pokemon Diamond And Pokemon Pearl NDS... Well i took a break from the Whole Pokemon game idea but when i recived pokemon Pearl in Christmas 07 i couldnt believe how well they made the game from RSE and with Wi-Fi and GTS i was just amazed! BTW nintendy plz no more FC's! how bout like usernames and passwords k? thanks!

Pokemon TCG GB... Well that game is the reason im in to the TCG i started buying the cards back during Base Set,,, i didnt know that there was actually a game!!! back in 03 i decided to learn the game when i found this game at a game crazy store for 4 dollars! this game started my Organized Play Phase of collecting

Pokemon Yellow and Crystal GB and GBC... The idea of building on to an amazing game was nice but it could never fully add the true amazement of the actual original Game... But hey it gave us some thing to do well we were wating for the next game!

Worst Games!
Pokemon Battle Revolution Wii... I liked the idea of using your DS in this one but it was a flop... i was no fun unless u bought D or P and then played for like 80 hours,,, the single player was terrible and the online play was so meh with the stupid FC's... Usernames anyone?

Pokemon Dash NDS... Ok its good that you were trying to show new ways to use the touch screen but... LEAVE POKEMON OUT OF THIS!!!!!!!!! all you did in this game was lose Pikachus Rep and Ruin pokemon all together if DP wouldnt have came i would have forgot about pokemon All together!

Well thats what ive had to say about pokemon i have a good 10 years with you and im hoping for another great 10 years thanks to all the awsome people behind Pokemon TCG and Pokemon as a game! you guys have been great!
~ Giligan

^ yeah, I really like Gold a lot too. Mainly because I used to play it as a kid so much. Nostalgia plays a big part it seems.

Pokemon dash was a good way to wear down your stylus and destroy your screen or protector...

I just don't see the point of a Pokemon TCG video game. Go buy some cards and play your friends. Video games are reserved for what only video games can do.
