Big annoying issues

Ok, I just re-downloaded PTCGO hoping to fix the problem I'm about to explain but nothing has been fixed.

To start this off, the game itself loads up fine, I log in and everything is peachy.

Now for the annoying parts, I CANNOT look through my collection, I CANNOT look at my decks, I CANNOT trade, or do just about ANYTHING that has to do with a deck or single cards without that section of the screen being all scrambled and nothing but junk, I have to repeatedly click around the area and hope I click the right deck/cards.

Step this way and I'll give you more...

When in games and I go to place my bench but a big Pokemon sign shows up in the area of picking the cards, you can't see the cards.. So again I randomly click hoping to choose what I wanted, same thing happens when searching the deck or discard...

Yes, this is very annoying.. I will not put codes in until this is resolved.

Please if anyone knows how to resolve this issue, tell me as quickly as possible! Thanks!

The issue is not PTCGO. The issue is your computer. I had the same issue, my computer was an older computer with an outdated graphics card. You can update your graphics card or just get a new computer.

What are your computer's specs? How old is it? When was the last time it had a good cleaning?

Hmm, all other games run fine, but you're probably right, and I have planned on getting a new computer for a while. Any suggestions?

It's a DV5000 Hp, not sure on age, and I clean it everyday.

Yeah, TCGO isn't going to work on that system. At least, it's not gonna work well. I've found that it needs AT LEAST 500MB of free RAM to work at a minimal level, and at least a gig to work correctly. I also notice that it doesn't have a dedicated video card. I think TCGO either requires it, or works much better with it.

I understand, well I'll have to buy a new computer, thank god for my new job..lol

Maybe try messing with the screen resolution on the game?

I'm pretty sure the computers at the library aren't the newest things around (or my parents computer).
The game runs fine on them, all I did was adjust the screen resolution.

So before you spend a bunch of $, try that.

I will defiantly try that, thanks.

Edit: It's not the screen resolution, looks like it's time for some new gear.

You should build your own computer... it'll last longer and you are the one in charge of the graphics/memory/cpu/etc .

I built my computer and it's running for 10 years now. Works fine with all games.

Impressive, how much does that usually cost though to make your own?

It depends on what I want and what kind of case I want. Fan system is way cheaper than the water cooling system, but the water cooling system looks cool. Usually I budget my computer to $1000 and wait for stuff to be on sale and that's when I get the best deal.

That's a good idea, and I don't care to much on how it'd look as long as it ran good.

if you want to be cost effective... get an AMD processor six core or 8 core. 4GB+ memory ram. any HDD. if you want a fast boot, then get a solid slate that would cost $100+ more. But if you do an upgrade and custom build..you should buy a cool looking case. Also, make sure there's a lot of fans to cool down your system or it'll overheat during the summer depending where you live.

You mean Solid State, not slate. Solid State drives are expensive, and will become affordable in the future. Currently, you can easily live without one. AMD/Intel is a tough battle. It's like Coke/Pepsi. Some people like Intel, some people like AMD. You'll spend less on an AMD processor. You may or may not get the same performance/reliability...

To be honest, if you're not technically inclined, picking up an HP/Dell/Toshiba desktop that's on sale with solid parts is just a video card away from being able to handle most games, including PTCGO. You'll spend about the same, and you'll get a warranty out of the deal too.

If you want a laptop, those are virtually impossible to build correctly. There's just not enough room in them to easily build by oneself. My guess is that elam is talking about desktops, which IMO are becoming more and more obsolete...

Hi.

The other thing to take a look at is your graphics card driver. sometimes a newer driver will allow the game to go. I had almost exactly the problems you describe (parts of the screen not loading, both in game and out of game). I updated the driver and the game worked.

While it obviosly would be nice to have new, your dv5000 actually should be able to play the game. It likely has a Geforce video card (a 7400 maybe?) and should be able to handle direct x and the like. go to www.geforce.com and do a driver detect.

If that doesn't work, or you decide to upgrade to a new box, as a 20 yr vet of PC building and repair, I agree with ApachePrime. Unless you are a real tech nut, getting a middle of the road Dell or somesuch is the way to go. For $500 you can get a real nice machine. Wait for a sale, and then don't buy the extended warranties or pay them for any of their upsells, and you will get a good computer for a reasonable price.

cheers,

Dan

Good luck!

I still think computers are way better than laptop. Computers are easy to modify and cheaper to fix compared to laptops.

you need to uninstall the game and then when you reinstall save it to file x86 I believe it is. It will run smoothly then. I had your same problem and I got support and it worked. When it asks to save to your pc use the little box beside the top bar and browse for it.:thumb:

Most of my pokemon looked like a cats tail curling over on the cards picture ....
