they made KH COM form a handheld game into a full sized one, whos to say that tey wont do the reverse
1) The whole "expand to all systems" thing wasn't so much mainstream Square-Enix as it was the FFXI development team speaking for Square-Enix, which is why most people wouldn't have heard of it.
2) I cannot imagine the sheer, unadulterated pain of trying to play an MMO on the DS. Even if you had all the data serverside and never upgraded the client at all, it'd still completely suck (not to mention lag like ****).

and as for sucking, where the heck did you pull that out of? ive seen some damn good games for the DS id love to see as MMO\'s or at least withe xtended online play
lagging? ive never had lagging problems with the DS, and im sure nintendo isnt stupid enough to simply drop an MMO on a handheld (which would be revolutionary) without making a system in which it could work
Imagine for a moment typing using a DS. Getting any kind of textual message would be a complete pain. The alternatives to text aren't very stellar, either.
Also, can you imagine hundreds if not thousands of people all having to download data from the server every time they went into an area, just because you can't very well expand onto a DS system? The lag would be tremendous, sort of like the legendary Second Life lag.

actually, the text pad would be about as big as the one on the iphone
it would be awkward at first, but nintendo could easily make a keyboard extension that latches on to the underside, where the GBA game would be inserted
a company capable of making a system like the wii work could easily find a way

You know, I never played Second Life, but I do know one guy who had to buy a new computer because that lag made him so impatient and annoyed that he threw his computer out of the second story window.Imagine for a moment typing using a DS. Then again, he's also recently checked into therapy, so I can't really say for certain if that was truly an act of impatience.

Consider yourself lucky. Seriously. If you people think my legendary dislike of WoW constitutes a low opinion of a game, you've never seen me post about Second Life. In summary, it's utter **** that makes WoW look good. I'd elaborate why, but let's just say Second Life is the exact opposite of the "family friendly" image this site likes, and talking about it would involve delving into things that would get me modded just for mentioning.
