Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Black and White Discussion

If the shiny thing is true, it might be an attempt at cutting down on all the "****ING" for them to be shiny, like the TM's are now reuasable.
Adding in features like this make cheaters less likely to want to cheat. And, it also will cut down on a lot of time to do things in the game like breeding for the babies to have an egg move, as well as other game mechanics.
But 1/50 seems like a small ( too small) a figure/ratio- maybe not for breeding, but for wilds ( imo).
Also- as it seems that the B&W games are like "fresh" ( like how when red/blue came out ) the game mechanics are "tweaked" more to be simpler and less "tiediouse" tasks to get just 1 good battle worthy Pokemon.

I thought it was kinda funny about Nintendo's crack down on B&W pic.
It will not stop them. Only make people look for them harder.
Also got my copy in. What is with the high ATK of these Pokemon?
It is like of you hit me for 4 hp, well I hit you for 8hp with a non-crit...
I think my Pokemon have a low DEF.

^Early in the game, I lucked into an Adamant Yorterrie. This thing can oneshot anything I've run into with Take Down. INCLUDING the first Gym Leader's Pokemon. (Granted, I was a bit overlevelled for him, but still.) I looked up its stats, and it's not even good, stat-wise. O.O

Anyway, I think that stall games are going to become a lot more interesting. You're either going to have to be VERY good at predicting, or you'll be ripped through. These new Pokemon are hax.

I'm having trouble understanding the about-face re: video game images. One would think posting such images (if only of the Pokemon sprites) would be seen as a good thing, since it helps fans get a feel of the game before it comes out in their country.

I sincerely hope Nintendo reconsiders. I'm still going to pre-oreder the games, however.

Why would they? The sprites are copyrighted works. Also how do they obtain the sprites? Through ripping them via illegal ROMs? Nintendo is getting more and more aggressive against piracy since hackers cracked the game before the game was released. Its getting worse and worse. Heck I know a league leader who illegally downloads games and he has pirated this game as well as some people who attend that league. Point is at least they are simply issuing a cease and dissest and not going after a lawsuit. I might buy the Japanese Strat Guide when it comes out.

Hackers didn't crack the game before it was released. o_O It was cracked the day it came out officially, after some had had it for a few days already.

Honestly, Nintendo getting more and more aggressive isn't doing much. As far as I've been able to find, Nintendo/GF spends huge amounts of money incorporating anti-piracy onto their cartridges. The end result of all that money spent? Maybe a week's delay in a fully functional rom. Honestly, their money would be better spent in other areas, like cracking down further on places that actually offer the rom for download.

And that LL and those players, what will they do when the English game comes out? I bet most of them will buy it. Most non-Japanese-speakers really only play the rom before it comes out in their country to get a feel for the game. Honestly, unless you're completely fluent in Japanese, you don't get the whole experience. (I imported a Japanese Heart Gold. I love it to bits. My sister hates it. Guess which one of us knows more Japanese?)

Well, according to Serebii, he is now allowed to put back up some images subject to Fair Use. :/ No word on exactly where they're drawing the line, but I just hope he keeps sprites in his Pokedex.

The letter was not about that. It was about the images straight from the game.
Nintendo claims the amount of photos put up from the game break the fair use law.
That was all.
Not much can really be done since the images keep showing up even on none fan sites.

The thing about the Nintendo incident that erks me is that they go after two of the biggest sites(that have spent 1000s of hours of their own time) while leaving Youtube, and others sites completely free.

That is why everytime I contact Nintendo about illegal piracy reporting I urge them to force remove the over 150,000 videos that promote piracy.

Anticipation and surprise do an even better job. They already have a captive audience that JUMPS every time they announce a new title is forthcoming. Keeping the Pokemon veiled gives that sense of mystery and fuels the I gotta get it as soon as it hits the shelf impulse/urge. It's a smart marketing ploy to keep them hidden.

Ya, but I believe the reason is that Nintendo plans to make some changes to the game for the releases outside fo Japan like they did for HG/SS and are trying to to make it known.
I miss the Game Corner.

Eh, I don't see it that way.

We've been buying practically the same game 16 times (and half of those games were remakes of older ones!) over the course of 14 years. Anyone who wants the game is going to buy the game, regardless if they've seen all the new Pokemon or not. Most people have already seen them, anyway. So what's the point?

Image thing still bugs me, & they are still out there if you look hard enough.

Anyway after looking at the stats a bit more a few things have suprised me.

  • Vaivanilla actually has high overall base stats. It's still lol ... but maybe actually playable in game.
  • Shibirudon ... an electric type with levitate and reasonable stats for everything but speed? Interesting.
  • Kojondo rocks.
  • Agiudar's speed is crazy.

I like that Rock/Flying, even if its ability is terrible. It can at least get Scarfed and start hammering away with that massive 140 base attack.

Black and White

what do you guys think about the new games: Black and White?
what do you think of the:
1. Gameplay
2. Plot
3. Graphics
4. New Pokémon < (Look! "Pokemon" with an accent on the é!)

Discuss.
