well yes but it's not unfair. if the pokemon is gonna have something like 120 damage and 130 hp the trainer should be smart enough to switch the pokemon to prevent the immediate KO.... it's the defender's fault if they want to stay in and attack with the ten damage recoil (actually that makes it almost inferior to plus power since you can't choose where or when the rocky helmet is used, the opponent does......)

but it forces a switch, and any other use of resources, making them use their cards differently

and your point? they can tech their deck against it if they want with something like life herb or blissy prime's poke power they will make counter cards and ten damage isn't alot it also might actually help the serp deck gain popularity because of royal heal which will negate the effect of the Helmet......... I think it's a great invention and can really effect play but it's too good either (ten damage isn't a lot and monsters among pokemon like zekrom and reshiram will appreciate the outrage boost....)

Donphan's power only reduces damage from attacks. It has no immunity to trainer cards that do damage (have there actually been any besides that one card way back in Rocket edition?).

I note that they do mention item cards, so it'll have at least some of those. The "new supporters" bit has me hoping we get N and not just cheren.
