Is there some way of getting a load of wings fast?

Because it seems a lot easier and quicker to just go out and KO a load of Basculin than it does to run around and collect 252 Swift Wings (for example).
 
Yeah, it is WAY faster to just do the training yourself. You can fully EV train a pokemon in about 10-15 minutes with RUS & Boosting items (Anklet/Lens/etc.).

Besides, if you are going to farm wings, you will fight Ducketts every other instance AND it would take FOREVER to actually use the items Over, and over, and over....

EDIT: @ sdrawkcab - they add 1 EV into a stat, but do not stop at 100 EV's like vitamins do.
 
So could someone EV train and then use Wings in the final steps to push a Stat?

Have not used Wings and just getting going in B/W so do not know the point of wings.

Are they like Iron, etc. where it does not raise levels, just stats? So could someone EV train their Pokes to the appropriate Levels and then once the stat is maxed from Training use wings to push it higher??
 
Da' Fish, yes. Wings increase a EV by 1 for each wing. You can use as many as you want, no matter how many EV's you already have. And yes, they do not raise levels, only stats.

Are you getting into VGC Fish? :biggrin:

Wings add 1 EV in the stat - but will fail if you are at 255 EVs already in that stat (252 is ideal per stat though)
Vitamins add 10 EVs in the stat - but will fail if you are at 100 EVs already in that stat.
None of these items get boosts from PokeRus or Power items.

They just raise stats - not levels.
 
Yeah, wings imo are best used for the more awkward amounts of EVs imo, though I personally think they're a waste, you're better off using the power items. Even Macho Brace would be better than collecting wings for hours imo.
 
Attempting... more variations is alluring to say the least! Still can't find the right training area for B&W....

Let me get this straight, you put a power anklet (ex) on a ditto with 31 Speed IV, it has a higher chance to pass its 31 Speed onto offspring?

EDIT, for Fish: Stats never change except at levelup. If you get a Pokemon to level 100, its stats are permanent no matter what you do to it - giving it wings at that point does you no good. You would need to use wings on it, THEN train it to the level you want.

1 - The power items GUARANTEE the parent passes that stat.

2 - You are incorrect. They fixed it in Black and White to allow EV's at level 100, wings and battling. And EVs count IMMEDIATELY now, so you don't have to wait to level to "Cash in".

So do your stats just... change, without saying anything? That is really strange!

Has anyone tested this with using multiple items, like anklet to one parent and lens to the other? I know only one was guarenteed in hgss..
