Blastoise and Blend Energy

Hi.

I tried to search this out, as I am sure it's been answered, but no luck. Can Blastoise use "Deluge" with a WLFM blend energy?

I am wondering, for instance, whether I could run some WLFM blend energies in a Blastoise / Keldeo / Black Kyurem deck and get the ability to deluge while still being able to use the energy as lightening for Kyurem. Seems like the best of both worlds.

Most people seem to just be using normal Lightening energy in this deck. Is that to protect from enhanced hammer, or just because Blend won't work anyway?

The answer to your question can be found in the wording of the Blend Energy card. It says that the card provides :colorless: energy and "when attached to a Pokemon" it provides :water:, :lightning:, :fighting: or :metal:. Deluge can attach :water: energy from your hand, but when in your hand Blend is :colorless:. It won't work.
