Hello, I'm new to the game and this is my first attempt at deck building, so any and all help would be appreciated.

Pokémon:
4x Squirtle (PBL)
1x Wartortle (PBL)
4x Blastoise (PBL)
4x Horsea (PLF)
1x Seadra (PLF)
4x Kingdra (PLF)
1x Jirachi EX

Trainer:
4x Pokemon Catcher
4x Cilan
4x N
4x Caitlin
3x Professor Juniper
3x Skyla
4x Rare Candy
1x Scoop Up Cyclone

Energy:
10x Water Energy
4x Steel Energy

The strategy here is basically to set up my main two Pokémon as quickly and as much as I'm able, and to use/recycle energy to power Blastoise and Kingdra up and use them simultaneously. Jirachi is mostly there to grab supporters, just in case. This pairing came recommended to me at a recent event, so I'd like to take a shot at it.

Interesting concept. Most people (like myself) pair Blastoise with Black Kyurem Ex and/or Keldeo Ex.

Just a few thoughts, you're running two sets of stage 2 pokemon. That can be dangerous and hard to set-up. Especially when you only have 4 candies. I would recommend trying to stick with some big basics. But if this is the pokemon lines you want, then you DEFINITELY need to run 3 Tropical Beaches. You just won't be able to get enough cards out on the table if you don't.

Another thought: if you tech Jirachi, that's fine. But he's only there as a tech, he won't be seeing battle. Drop the steel energies.

Also, why scoop up cyclone and not like Computer Search, Dowsing Machine, Scramble Switch?

Another thought, your blastoise is also a tech. He's not supposed to see battle either, but is there to sit on your bench and power up your other poke's. Think about that during your strategy. You definitely don't want to lose a blasty because he was fighting a bad ex and now you can't power up your Kingdra.

I'd drop the Cilans, also. or at least run 1. I choose to run 1, but you definitely don't need 4.

And you're missing a lot of VITAL tools in the deck. Right now, you need to be running Tool Scrappers, at least 2. With the garbodors running around, you have to be able to scrapper their tools away so you can KO them.

And ultra balls. Definitely ultra balls. You have to ahve a way to get pokemon out of your deck at just the right time. This is where they come into play. You can Skyla for an Ultra ball, grab a blasty, evolve your squirtle and bam, you're pumping your offensive line full of energy.

Another one to think about: Switch or float stone. You need to be able to get poke's out of the active slot if you don't want them there. Better yet, tech in some Keldeos and float stones, that'll give you a big bad attacker and his rush in - retreat ability.

And definitely use the Squirtles from Boundaries Crossed. He has an ability that keeps him from getting sniped. That can be vital when playing plasma or darkrai. Keeps your baby turtles safe.

These are just a few thoughts. It might be interesting to see what kind of other decks can be made with Blastoise's ability. Certainly BK/Keldeo aren't the only options, but they're definitely the more popular/powerful options.

I agree with most of the above reply but i really like scoop up cyclone in a blastoise deck. Its a fresh pokemon with full health and you can have all the energy that turn to do with as you want. I usually use it with keldeo tho

Would Keldeo be too awkward to fit into this deck?
