Blissey from Mysterious Treasures rocks. :thumb: Let's take a look at all the goodness...

Blissey
Stage 1 Colorless Pokemon w/130HP

Poke-Power: Kind Egg
Once during your turn (before your attack), if Happiny is anywhere under Blissey, you may choose a number of cards in your hand up to the amount of Energy attached to Blissey and put those cards on top of your deck. Shuffle your deck afterward. Then, draw that many cards. This power can't be used if Blissey is affected by a Special Condition.

:colorless Happy Chance (20+)
Does 20 damage plus 10 more damage for each Energy attached to Blissey. Before doing damage, you may search your discard pile for a basic Energy card and attach it to Blissey.

Blissey + Chansey + Happiny + Energy = Card draw.
Blissey's attack has energy acceleration: the ability to break the once per turn energy attachment limit.

Now let's put all that goodness to use:

Pokemon (17):
4x Buneary (MD) - Energy search + bench healing. Foundation for Lopunny.
3x Lopunny (LA) - Bench healing + Card draw + 30/60 attack.
4x Happiny (MT) - 60 HP, healing and makes Blissey better.
3x Chansey (MT) - 100HP for a basic that evolves...yowza!
3x Blissey (MT) - 130HP w/Energy recycling is very good. Kind Egg = Card Mill.

Supporters (12):
4x Roseanne's Research - energy / basic
4x Felicity's Drawing - discarding energy for Blissey is good.
4x Bebe Search - I need a particular Pokemon now

Trainers (15):
4x Quick Ball - pick a pokemon
1x Great Ball - get a basic and bench 'em
1x Luxury Ball - get one pokemon
3x Warp Point - let's dance
4x Poke Healer - recharge blissey
2x Pokemon Rescue - recycle one pokemon (I can already recycle energy, no need for Night Maintenance in this deck).

Tools (2):
2x Amulet Coin - I love cards

Energy (14):
12x Basic Energy (It doesn't matter which color)
2x Recover Energy - sometimes Pokemon fall asleep or get poisoned... etc...

Strategy
If you have a choice, in most situations start with Happiny. Happiny has staying power against other starting Pokemon, with 60HP, a built in healing attack and the Baby Evolution healing. Chansey's no slouch with 100HP, but the attacks are just okay.

Buneary can grab an energy for free to get you rolling. I usually grab Recover energy, because it is not searchable by Roseanne.

Lopunny's a nice upgrade to Buneary granting us 3 cards if we need them, healing between rounds, and a 60 damage against evolved Pokemon.

Blissey of course is our star. We want to feature Blissey once we have few energy in the discard, if we can. That way Blissey is adding an extra 10 damage to it's attack. Use Felicity to dish energy to the discard pile and then draw more cards. Also note, the more energy Blissey has, the more cards we can recycle using Kind Egg.

This deck is built primarily on uncommons and commons. Lopunny and Blissey are rare, but not too difficult to get through trading.

If you're not a Lopunny fan, you could consider other Pokemon that help you discard energy, for Blissey to pick up... Raichu comes to mind... especially the version with the free retreat cost! Rapidash as well.

I would appreciate suggestions!

Too bad this is a poor man's deck....
Yet the 2 above me advice a deck WITH CLAYDOL AND UXIE. See what's wrong with this picture?

Blissey used to be great, but not in the current format. There were much better special energies to help blissey stay alive and be a more potent threat. Blissey also lacks the shutdown power it had when Cessation crystal was out, at which point forget happiny, just get a blissey and attack. The format had gotten much quicker and pokemon such as machamp and kingdra and almost any other deck tear through blissey

Claydol is a great Pokemon. If you read the deck lists on here, it's either in the deck or recommended to be in the deck. If they'd just put in as a common in the OP packs, that'd be great! But they don't... so...

I'm looking for alternatives. In the "Poke-Power/Body" we have Blissey, Minun, Plusle, Bronzong, etc...

In the "attack" there are alternatives like Lopunny, Smeargel, Lapras etc...

Blissey w/Happiny gives you card draw, energy recycling, and a decent attack Pokemon. If you face a lot of fighting decks put in some Bubble Coats and/or consider ditching Lopunny for a Psychic Bronzong if you can get one.

True, Blissey as an attacker was much better with Boost, Double, and other 'multi-energy' cards. But those are gone. Perhaps this helps make Blissey easier to get in a trade.

You'll really like Blissey PL in this deck.

Discard 1 energy with Nurse Call=Healing Blissey MT

Use Happy Chance to put that energy on Blissey MT. Rinse and repeat Turn after turn. You almost need nothing else.

Interesting... it has some merit, plus Blissey Platinum has the :colorless hand filler attack that does damage and does not require Happiny. Definitely worth a test. Might need some switches to help move around... Thanks.

there are plenty of other cheap decks that don't require cards like claydol and uxie.
octillery is a great deck and it's very fun.
another solid deck is scizor cherrim.
