Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Bookbags and other items stolen by suspicious people

On Monday morning, the Anaheim PD was at the hotel. Through some interviews and video, they were able to get a few names and locate the room. They went up there and arrested a male in his late teens, early twenties. The removed him from the hotel in handcuffs. There were one or two others involved but could not be found.

The police brought down the evidence and we were all going thru stuff. The mother of one of the persons was there and it was a bit tense. The police finally confiscated all the material as evidence.

I am a friend of Gino. He grinded in on Friday nite until 3:15 am on Saturday. He played his heart out on Saturday and made T32. Then he got his stuff jacked. He's a good kid who deserves better.

I too had stuff stolen. I recieved a booster box for volunteering Friday, Sat, and Sun. I was last in line to get a card signed by the creator of Pokemon. I unzipped my bag, took out a card, handed it to the gentleman to sign. I bowed and thanked him and turned around. 15 seconds tops. Someone swiped my CG Booster Box.

Same people? Who knows. Just a drag.

There is an on going investigation and I would suggest that names be kept out of all emails until the PD sorts it out.

My son Charlie did not have things stolen, he just seemed to lose everything he brought or received at the event. First, after grindering into Worlds, he lost his competitor's backpack on Saturday. He had added his wallet and the cards he picked up from the Santa Clara Crystal Guardian pre-release. His name and address were in the backpack.

The next day, Sunday, he lost the deck he played at Worlds. It was a Raichu/Eggs deck (Hung's pojo list) in green sleeves in a Crystal Guardian deck box. His name was not in the deckbox.

I prefer to think he lost these items, rather than had them stolen; and that there is still a chance that they might be found and returned.

Dave helped out Charlie with competitor gear, and we are grateful. I worked as a volunteer for three days, and he has plenty of CG cards. We hope his wallet and deck turn up.

[ I know stuff gets stolen it's the world in which we live in but people do leave stuff and forget it so not all stuff missing is stolen either.

there is UNintentional thievery?

I meant intentional this way as in "someone who KNOWS the stuff isn't theirs, and DELIBERATELY steals it." I didn't mean for it to be compared because there IS no actual unintentional thievery, as that in itself is wrong as well. However, I understand your point. This will remind me never to drink with the boss again. Or something like that...

I just read several threads about bans being handed out to two known thieves from the event. Is there any way to find out if these two had a 2006 Worlds' competitor back pack with my son's card binder, wallet, and Crystal Guardian prelease cards inside? How about a green sleeved Raichu/Eggs deck in a Crystal Guardian deck box?

You have to find out where the stuff is being held for starters, then ask the cops about it. A lot of stuff is being kept as evidence so I dunno how it really works.

I would contact Ice'Cold or Gdog121TheChamp as they should hopefully be getting pictures of what the police have. Maybe they'll see it in one of them.

I think it would be a community service if Ice'Cold or someone else who knows supplies the community with the contact info for the detective(s) in charge of the investigation so that anyone else that may have had items stolen can contact them!
