Well, I am little bit confused.

Is elimination of TopCut in Fall BR compulsory round the World or is it optional and the final decision is only up to TO and venue time possibility ?

Most of Czech players prefer TopCut but not sure is it legal.

I will appreciate official info/statement from TPCi.

Many thanks in advance.

I know in N america regions we are not allowed ot have top cuts, but I think I heard that Austrialia and New Zealand are still holding Top Cuts at thier events. So I really dont know how it will work for you. A lot of the players here are disapointed but the TO's seem to mostly be in favor of the change. It will be interesting to see what happens when cities roll around latter this year.

Aus and NZ do indeed have Top Cuts still. AFAIK, our PTO ran it buy the tPCI guys. My suggestion is to speak to your local TO or PTO and get them to contact tPCI directly. Remember they may decide they don't want to, and it's not mandatory for them to, so don't be shocked if your TO/PTO turns around and says no.

No Top Cut is only for North America as far as I know. I remember a player from the UK saying they had top cut at his BR. I think Europe still has Top Cut.

I can confirm that Singapore's BRs still has topcuts.

Probably will be the same case in Malaysia. (Same TO)

It seems like it's up to the TO in Europe.

In the UK they have had BRs with and without top cut.

Many thanks for support,

but still missing any official info from TPCi,

I know that many countries in Europe have TopCut in Fall BR but the OP instruction for this season was quite cleare - no TopCut,

There was no remarks saying - depand on TO or OP coordinator decision, if venue condition permitting etc.

Well, still confused what is mandatory and what is optionally.

... but the OP instruction for this season was quite cleare - no TopCut,
Actually that is incorrect. True the OP instruction was quite clear but the opposite of what you state! Outside the USA the instruction was to do what is best for your market.

Which is why you need to contact your local OP coordinator as the decision is with them.

to NoPoke - sure I will ask, no problem, but do we spoke about the same artical on one of the front pages of Pokemon Official page ?

Changes to Top Cuts

To make some of the lower tier events less time consuming, we’re making changes to the top cuts at Battle Road events.

Battle Road events will no longer feature a top cut, and these events will be played as straight Swiss. Battle Roads will also feature a deeper Championship Points payout structure as a part of this change, awarding points to more of those participating.

there is no remark about any other possibilities, but simply statement "no longer feature a TopCut".

Still confused.

that article is written with USA players in mind. Things are often a bit different outside the USA.

sure, but there is no countries specification/limitation, and what is written is valid;

one silly example with the same principle - should we modified CHP for BR here in Europe, let´s say winner get 30, finalist 25 etc.

Hopefully not, so what is difference ?

I strongly believe that OP condition should be the same everywhere, except Japan.

I'd like free events..... but that is not going to happen outside the USA. You have to always read what is posted on the pokemon.com/us site as if it is intended to be read only by USA citizens. Sometimes it applies outside the USA but sometimes not.

[Or maybe I don't want free events since those free events put quite a cap on what POP can do in the USA.]

Confused or not, it comes back to this post ^.

If you still insist, you can contact Pokemon tPCI directly through submitting a support ticket.

They're not going to come and post here every time someone has a grievance with the game.

Well I am offically jealous of Eurpoe, Signapore and Austrailia now. I really wish we had the option to have top cuts here. It just does not seem right ending a tourney on swiss play alone. It works for Prereleases byt not premeiere events.

There are very few players in Europe who would not prefer to be playing in the USA. I'm not sure why you would be jealous of Europe when so many EU battle roads don't have enough players to have a cut anyway .

You would of course be more than welcome over here, you could even be that eighth player that allows a T2 cut to run or player #16 to allow a T4.
