Yeah, but they're a little shady.

Found their site, noticed a listing for the Japanese GB Dragonite with cartridge for $6. Bought it along with some other promos. Order ships a little while later. Dragonite promo arrives, no game. Turns out they didn't have that, so they just sent the card and charged my mom's credit card $1 less, as there was also another item for sale - just the Dragonite card, $5. Sure, they had that option, but a little unethical as far as I'm concerned... Having items listed that aren't even in stock. Oh, and then guess what they do? Immediately after I receive my order, they remove the listing for the card + cartridge, and raise the price of the single card to $10. :|

In fact, they do that with a lot of their cards. Many of the japanese promo items listed are constantly Out of Stock - although their site in no way reflects this.

And in addition, a short while later, my mom's credit card information was stolen and used to purchase computer goods in Chicago. Considering that Gathering Ground was the only website she had ordered anything from with that specific credit card, I feel confident in attributing this information theft to them.

I would highly advise you steer clear of Gathering Ground.

Completely agree. Vince is biased here, as he does hold tournaments there, but Gathering Ground is one of the worst companies out there.

Just check out what ratings they received on resellerratings: http://www.resellerratings.com/store/The_Gathering_Ground. All reviewers were left "Very dissatisfied." I urge you to never, EVER do business with this company.

To get singles, eBay is the best choice. arousal ships ludicrously fast, and has fantastic prices. Most hobby stores will try to screw you over, dedicated eBay card stores are the best option if you need to buy singles.

No objections. I have bought from arousal and I am stunned and amazed on the how fast he ships.

I paid on Monday and the package arrived the following Monday, from the US to Malaysia. That VERY fast. I mean... INSANELY fast for normal shipping. The cards are cheap and they are in mint condition as well.

A. Vince is Biased

B. Vince does hold events there.

C. Vince has no stake in the Gathering Ground, but will make them aware of these posts, so they are aware of what is being said. I know the owner, I like the owner, he has always been good to me and my sons, so, I will leave it at that.

I'd like to make a post on behalf of Trinity (Jake S, Colin M, Bela L) that all of our business with Jason and Brendan, of Gathering Ground, has been excellent.

WOW! As much as I doubted I was the only one who had experienced problems with Gathering Ground, I must say I'm surprised to see some of the exact same issues described by some of the customer reviews on the listed site there, MonsterOfTheLake.

The Bait and Switch technique seems like a common occurrence there, and I'm no longer shocked by what happened in my case. Gathering Ground just seems like a disgusting, unethical business with a shameful reputation. Vince, perhaps you've had some positive experiences with them, but I must say, when I see much of the same as my case reported involving the company, I can definitely say that they're no good. Companies like that disgust me.

I didn't mention it, as I didn't think it was a big deal (or, again, as common of an occurrence as it seems to be!!!), but they also shipped a partial order for me. In addition to the Dragonite, I ordered three other items, all listed as in-stock on their website. The two I was really wanted shipped, thankfully, but my mom's credit card was just refunded for one of the items. Package arrived without the item, and we had to call and find out what the deal was. Turns out they were just out, so they refunded (without informing us!!!) the credit card and shipped the rest out. To this day, the listing has stayed on the site. It's another Japanese Promo, so I'm sure that the item is still out of stock, and that they're just too unethical of a site to remove the listing.

1. Stolen Credit Card info. (!!!)
2. Bait and Switch techniques.
3. Partial shipping WITHOUT NOTIFICATION.
4. Out-of-stock items continually listed as in-stock.
5. OOS items refunded WITHOUT NOTIFICATION.

Bottom line: Don't ever do business with GatheringGround.com. Period.

referring to Troll and Toad:
^^^ The above site doesn't even sell singles. Plus, they charge $156 for a box of Aquapolis booster? Hahaha.

I don"t know where you get the idea they don't sell singles. That's where I buy most of mine. I would agree that box prices seem high, so don't buy'em! Service is good and reasonably timely. Shipping is cheap $1 for up to 16 cards.

After seeing the Troll and Toad link the other day, I bought 5 Dark Persian promos from them for a buck each, plus a buck shipping. Waiting to receive them now. Can't beat the price, that's for sure! :)
