I have loved Emobar since fall of last year. Do not care what anyone says if it is good or bad haha. I will miss RDL from the rotation but will be getting Rayquaza and Rayquaza Ex to put in its place! So here is what I have so far.

Reshiquazaboar

Pokemon 13

2 Rayquaza
1 Rayquaza Ex (might do 2 ex and 2 reshiram)
3 Reshiram
3 Tepig BW07
1 Pignite 17
3 Emboar 20

Trainer 34

4 Cheren
3 Cilan
4 Juniper
2 N
3 Switch
3 Ultra ball
3 Heavy Ball
3 Super Rod
3 Pokemon Catcher
3 Energy Retrieval
3 Rare Candy

Energy 13

11 Fire
2 Electric

[Changes made to the deck include]
[-1 Pignite +1 Emboar]
[-4 Bianca +4 Juniper]
[-2 Random Receiver +2 N]
[-1 Energy Retrieval +1 Switch]
[-3 Pokemon Communication +3 Heavy Ball]
[-1 Fire Energy +1 Ultra Ball]

This is a variation of what I played during fall battle roads. The point is to always be able to power up big hitters and have control on the field. Rayquaza Ex to take out anything that is to big and Rayquaza to kill other dragons without giving 2 prizes to the return KO. Might put Heavy Ball in somewhere since the regular rayquaza has 3 retreat, might not put him in at all, not sure when we get him. I also thought about taking out the regular Rayquaza for Mewtwo and another Rayquaza Ex. I enjoy hearing opinions about the list!

Rayquaza-Ex - Dragon - HP 170

:colorless: Celestial Roar: Discard the top 3 cards of your deck. If any of those cards are Energy cards, attach them to this Pokémon.

:fire::lightning: Dragon Burst: Discard all basic :fire: Energy or all basic :lightning: Energy attached to this Pokémon. This attack does 60 damage times the number of Energy cards you discarded.

Weakness: Dragon (x2)
Resistance: None
Retreat: 1

Rayquaza - Dragon - HP 120

:lightning: Dragon Pulse 40
Discard the top 2 cards from your deck.

:fire::lightning::colorless: Tear Up 90
This attack's damage isn't affected by any effects on the Defending Pokémon.

Weakness: Dragon (x2)
Resistance: None
Retreat: 3

Looks like a good concept so far. I would consider 2 Rayquaza EX with 2 Reshiram. Since you include 3 rare candy, I would also up the Emboar count to 3.

I'd probably increase your lightning count to 3 or 4.
It seemed to work pretty well before with only 2 energy when I had RDL in the deck, and that was without a Cilan to even search any energy. As for the pignite drop I actually would have to agree on that one, seems like a pretty legit idea. Thanks for the ideas.

Really unsure of the Supporters.

If your hand is low enough to make Bianca worth it, it's probably low enough that Professor Juniper isn't terribly damaging. I'd also be surprised if you had a really speedy start since you want to/need to get a Stage 2 going, and thus N should be a really big help.

Not 100% sure what to cut for them... but having both Ultra Ball and Pokemon Communication seems a bit redundant. I wonder if Energy Retrieval needs to be at four. Yes, each single one counts as two Energy (effectively) later, and you will indeed be discarding plenty of Energy. However since your deck will need them anyway, Cilan and Super Rod seem like a better solution.

since you are using 3 super rods it might be worth using junipers in the place of some cherens and biancas. N i think is also better than cheren and biancas.

ill recommend 2 rayquaza ex, 2 mewtwo ex, 2 reshirams as your attackers. drop the non-ex rayquaza.

i would throw in another switch since emboar will be catchered many times during the game.

What about Escape Rope? If the translation I read for it was correct, it's just the update of Warp Point. I would assume the goal is mostly to score OHKOs, so you're not sending something injured back to the Bench. Given the deck already is heavy on Switch and Pokemon Catcher, running Escape Rope can either free of some slots, or just seems more practical than Switch even if we keep all the copies of Pokemon Catcher.

Well I will agree that I am happy to see essentially Warp Point being brought back, but with your opponent picking what is sent out I still think having switch and catcher will be better, since you can pick your target with catcher and you might not always want your opponents active to change, but I agree on changing up the supporters. Cheren just won't cut it the more I think about it -_- lol

Escape Rope isn't good enough for your deck built around OHKOs? o_O

You run Switch because you fear your opponent forcing up Emboar. Forcing them to change out shouldn't be an issue because you're build should be scoring a lot of simple OHKOs. Pokemon Catcher most definitely should still be in the deck, please don't misunderstand; it is only a question of how many Pokemon Catcher and how many Escape Rope (over Switch) to run. Still, this is me playing Theorymon, so if concrete testing if "giving my opponent a "Switch" effect will kill me", yeah I'm wrong. XD

Cheren may not be "cutting it", but what are you going to use instead? It may totally be me, but Bianca is not good for my decks; I certainly have hands get small enough, but it is almost always late game when my Supporters are only needed to recover from an opponent's N. Early game my hand is often 4+ cards. Since this is a deck with Evolutions, I'd be afraid my hand would plump up.

Sorry about the misunderstanding on Escape rope/switch haha, took it the wrong way, very good point! I honestly think I should add Juniper in, and with the energy excel/ultra ball is my theory behind Bianca, but you might be right, early game would seem to be a bit clumpy.

I'll be honest, I made the mistake of commenting on a bunch of decks one slow night, so I wasn't anywhere near specific enough.

For example, with BW-On, my test decks are running something like this for Supporters:

4 Cheren
2 Cilan
4 N
4 Professor Juniper

Sometimes backed by a few Random Receiver and usually by two Super Rod. Cilan fetches Energy, thinning the deck, and of course here we probably want three or four Cilan. I almost wonder if it will be easier to Super Rod then Cilan over trying to make Energy Retrieval work. Actually, perhaps a mix of all three is best anyway. Your thoughts, before we try to make the numbers work?

I would believe a mix between Cilan super rod, and energy retrieval would be best. Sometimes you need to use an actual draw supporter and retrieval still allows you to regain the energy to your hand while still having a supporter to use for the turn, it also increases chances of getting some sort of card to regain energy. I might actually drop the receiver for N, not sure what good receiver plays if it could just be another supporter right?

How does

4 cheren
3 Cilan
4 Juniper
2 N

-4 Bianca (Juniper)
-2 Random Receiver (N)

Random Receiver is a useful card, but if you are tight on space yes it is smart to drop.

N I am not so certain off. It's a catch-22; it is the only shuffle-and-draw Supporter, and since your deck is trying to pull off a Stage 2 Pokemon, I would want it myself. If I am stuck with a Rare Candy and no means of getting the Stage 2 into hand, better to toss it all back into the deck. So using just your modifications, I'd say three of everything Supporter and then choose the one you think is most worthwhile to have four... and that will probably be N or Juniper.
