Alright.
States.
Not so excited.
I wore my awesome sandal-hat man's hat, Kisuke Urahara from Bleach.
Only Marshal and Alex W (Hot_Carl) really got it.
First thing that happens is Chris G (DukeFireBird) slaps me upside my head.
I go meet up with everybody, get back to the dude who's name I never got at the Irvine CC (who's name I still haven't learned) and sold him a Latias* for $15.
Some kid (probably 11-14) comes up and asks me for my Absol ex.
I ask for his Salamence.
He says deal, then runs off and I don't see him for the rest of the day.

Get my deck registered, give Leo (Kirbypopstar) 30 some Torchics.
(Good for him, he's reached 500 foil Torchics.)
Trade some slight miscut cards with Micheal H.
I spend about an hour going around and taking pictures waiting for the tourney to start.

Round 1 vs. Marshal C (Metanite)
sup Marshal.
Well, this was alright.
We both got okay starts.
He get's two Dragonites and two Metagross's out by turn 4.
Basically, he managed to knock out all 3 of my fully powered Scizor ex's with 160 damage plus per turn.
Even with two metagross's on my bench with a Queen, I couldn't do it.
I didn't have any energy for 3 turns, that might be it.
There's a real cool move I did to get a psychihc Energy from my metagross.
What I did is I super scooped it, played beldum back, candied it to metagross, and used it's power for Scizor.
Loss.
0-1

Is it lunch yet?
it's already 12:30.

Round 2 vs. Wayne (Gardevoir+Typhlosion)
Same guy I played in Torrance who was a total newb.
I guess i could've expected as much.
He hadn't changed his deck much since then.
he get's a Gardevoir out aweful fast, and I get kinda scared...
but he benches it for other things, like a Quilava.
I get Scizor ex out powered, and he can't keep up.
Win.

1-1

Sitting next to Madhatter was awesome.
I haven't seen him since Worlds.

Okay, now it's lunch time.
So me and John (John Stephens) take a walk to get something to eat.
We'd a eat at the hotel restaurant, but it was $10.97 for a buffet ticket.
So we walk down two or three blocks to get to Carls Jr.
Which wasn't there.
I have an akward moment where I'm pondering if eating lunch with a dude and no one else makes me ***.
so basically we walk ten minutes in the wrong direction, and when we get back, we have ten minutes till the round starts.

I did manage to sell some stuff to the Shuffle and Cut guy that I haven't seen since UF prerelease.
The first round of selling, I got $120, mostly from really rare stuff that everyone already had.

Round 3 vs. Terek A
NOSHOW!
Dangit, that kills me.
No way I can get in with a 5-2 now.
Well, I never met him before.
I just finished my sushi and soda that I couldn't have because of the round starting.
Win by default.

2-1

Round 4 vs. Peter N (Arcanine)
Aw, C'MON!
It's bad enough I just had a noshow, but now I have to face him?
I just know that I'm not going to do any good without my own God hand and his crap hand.
Well, we both get the crap hand.
Had I sent up a Beldum first, I might've have taken him out earlier.
But, stupid me, I waited too long setting up.
He get's out Arcanine T3, KOs my nidorina, then beldum, then scyther.
I have a lone Scizor ex with one metal.
HUGE MISPLAY!
I decide it would be a good idea to transceive for 3 adventurers rather than mentor for a new bench.
I can't block enough damage to survive his attack.
Stupid blocking damage AFTER weakness...
Loss.

2-2

I get in more selling from the quick game, another $20.

Round 5 vs. Giovanni (Flygon)
I remember him from El Segundo.
Has a lot of cards, just doesn't really know the best way to build a deck.
I got an early fully powered T3 Scizor, with 2 Metagross and a Nidoqueen benched.
In total, he activates the body like a moron, so now i'm doing 120 to his Flygon.
He KO's me after like, 3 turns and a 2nd flygon.
I just get up another Scyther, evolve, and Super connect two metals to defend.
Scizor just has too much defense.
Win.

3-2

Chris G (yankeesrule) was sitting next to us.
His opponent had just up and left in the middle to go to the bathroom.
Giovanni, the dude, and I were making all sorts of jokes about going to the bathroom.
That was the hardest I've laughed in Pokemon, y'know, other than standing next to Chung.

Round 6 vs. Ryan F (Kingler) AKA dude with the freakiest heair I've seen outside of Sunset Blvd.
This dude is very affable.
If this wasn't the first time I met him, we'd probably get along.
Anyway, basically, nothing he sends up can overpower a fully powered Scizor.
It's an OHKO for everything he got.
Win.

4-2

Should I risk it?
Or should I just drop right now?

Sell another $20, making a total of $180 earned today.
that's the most I've ever had at once.
Y'know, in my pocket.

Round 7 vs. Lik L. (Armaldo)
Oh, God.
This is the only guy I know to make such a simple deck idea work.
Basically, Armaldo ex kills Scizor.
My Scizor only has one metal, and doing -20 for the first attack.
So he's doing 70 to me a turn.
I KO that one out, from him activating my body.
He gets another one up next turn, and KO's me.
Stupid T1 Strange Cave.
Loss

4-3

That's alright.
I go hang out with everyone.
The Shuffle Cut guy, Madhatter, Tommy (tommynguyen) and that.
Get a root beer, come back and root for John who made it to T8.

So that's it.
I know I'll be attending SoCal regionals (actually, how could I not; It's four blocks away.)
Maybe one Battle Road, just to see what it's like.
And then that's it.

I'll be getting some pictures up soon, I hope.
Darn lighting.
the 14- room was so much better, just because it had actual sunlight.
It was like a dungeon for 15+.
