OK, I posted in topic and will wait for my final thoughts until we see what Bippa posts.

IFF we need to change our team name, I suggest something everyone can agree on. Since we're already teh "Garchomp Tribe", perhaps we could play off that name. Or we could call ourselves the Scorpion Eaters. That would be pretty cool and combat the other team's Drapion based name.

As for "an idea for your cards", I have NO clue what he wants. if its a make your own challenge, my round suggestion would be to make the best beginner pokemon possible (no trainer ownership, no SP, no nothing. Jsut a straight up design challenge for one of the three starters in any country of Pokemon-dom).

Anyone else?

We shall be called Team Norris, so that the spirit of Chuck Norris shall be with us.

The theme shall be no theme, we are a democratic tribe, free to do as we want.

*raises hand*

TOTALLY DONE NOW!

I second Charizardian's ideas, as it gives us flexibility in challenges and should make things interesting. And Chuck Norris is just amazing.

~Cardz.

I am indifferent toward Team Chuck Norris only because I do not know if Chuck Norris is a trademark name.
Theme: starter's pokemon found in each pokemon region and their evolutions.

I like this idea.

Maybe all basic Pokemon? Real basic Pokemon, BTW, not this SP stuff.

Anyone else?

Chuck Norris jokes are for noobs.

Yeah, but I'm not sure that would go over well.

Replies in green.

TEAM NORRIS FTW!!!!.
And about the Cards i think Pokemon that found new Evolutions in DP, like:
Magmortar, Yanmega, Lickylicky, Mismagius, Frosslass etc.

Why can't we have a more dignified name? Like Team Operation Barbarossa?

Ok People Gotta Get To It And Work On The Cards!.
So What Do People Think About New Sinnoh Evoes?. And Remember Theres A Deadline!.

Challenge:
The Challenge is as follows

You must design 9 cards, one for each type in the PTCG. One of them must introduce a new mechanic to the game.

Good Luck. AND POST THE CARDS IN YOUR THREADS
The cards are due the next day at 12 pm Mountain Time.

------------------------------------------------

what new mechanics should we introduce with 9 cards? What theme are going with?
We have not seen baton pass mechanic in tcg but it can be found the pokemon game.

OOOOHH i know it can be like:
"Search both players Discard pile for a Card and put it face down as a prize card, then Discard one of both players Prizes".
So whadaya think?.

Baton Pass has totally been done by Ledian (can't remember which one, but it's an older one). Basically, it just trades Energy, statuses, etc. Prize manipulation has been done (See Island Hermit, Here Come's Team Rocket, Azelf LA, etc.). As a "new" mechanic, I think it's pretty weak.

I would have suggested "Instant" trainers (i.e. trainers played during your opponent's turn), but Power Spray has already been printed, taking up using that as a new mechanic. This leads me to two choices IMO:

--Cards played at times not currently allowable (when discarded, during your opponent's turn, etc.)
--Owner's with Pokemon (think of this as a one-sided Stadium effect or a Supporter every turn; for this challenge, they would have to be attached to a pokemon).

I can already tell short times for challenges is gonna be the biggest restraint of this Survivor. And lack of team communication is gonna shoot us down.

That said, I think in each post that we do our card we link to our post and card as well as put our card next to the type taken. This only takes a second to do "Quote" on the last card making posts and makes things look pretty clean. If I was in the top post (i.e. topic creator), I'd take this on and do this myself there. Sadly, I can't.

Since only one "must" contain a new mechanic, other may as well. Since the POkemon played at awkward times sounds cool to me, I'll be taking that one. Also: losers, weepers.

--------------

Primeape (F)
90 HP
Stage 1 (Evolves from Mankey)

PokeBODY: Madness

If you would discard Primeape from your hand or from your deck, put Primeape on your bench as a Basic Pokemon.

PokePOWER: Frenzied Piledriver

When Primeape comes into play, both you and your opponent choose one of your Benched Pokemon and send it and all cards attached to it to the Lost Zone.

(FF*): Fractured Punch (40+)

This attack costs (F) less if Primeape is a Basic Pokemon. Choose up to four cards in the Lost Zone (yours and your opponents). This attack does 40 damage plus 20 damage for each card selected in this way. Then, place each of those selected cards in their player's discard piles.

Weakness: P +20
Resistance:
Retreat: *
------------------------------------------

Gengar: I would edit your card (not you're card; grammar FTW...), but you made something that COMPLETELY does not follow the challenge. You have to make a Pokemon card in one of the 9 types. There is no room in this challenge for a Supporter so, unless you are purposely trying to throw the challenge, I suggest an edit of your post to have a card in it that is not (F) type (since I've already taken that). ;-) kthx, bye!

~Cardz.

Since absol lvx will see a lot of play when it comes out, an appropriate counter that introduces a new mechanic should also come out.

Giratina 100 HP :psychic:
Basic Pokemon

Pokepower: Return from Lost Zone: During your opponent's turn, if Giratina was sent to the lost zone either from the deck or from play, put Giratina on the bench. If you have any energy card(s) in your Lost Zone, attach them to Giratina after you put Giratina on the bench. You can not attach more than 2 energy with this power. Ignore this power if your benched is full.

PP: Dragon Claw: 40 damage
PPC: Distortion: 20x; This attack does 20 times the number of cards in your Lost Zone. Show those cards to your opponent and shuffle them into your deck.

Weakness: :dark: x 2
Resistance: :colorless -20
Retreat Cost: CCC

Flavor text: It silently gaze upon the old world from the Distortion World.
Picture: Giratina is coming out of giant portal in the middle of a lake.

Since the effect is on your opponent's turn, they can not powerspray it.

Edited post.

Ya sorry i just randomly got the idea lol.

Magmortar (R)
110 HP
Stage 1 (Evolves from Magmar)

[R][R][R] Punish (120) -
This attack does 120 damage minus 20 damage for each prize card your opponent has left.

[R][R][R][R][R]: Desperate Madness (150)
Discard all Energy attached to Magmortar. Or instead, you may send one of your opponent's prize cards to the lost zone, (this counts as your opponent taking a prize card).

holy edits...

rage:

1) What Stage is Giratina?
2) Comma after "During your opponent's turn..."
3) Reword the Power's second ability with Lost Zone energy attachment. It's uber confusing and I would do the full edit, but I have to get back to other things.
4) PP for 60 on a Basic = broken. Take it down a notch.
5) Lost Zone.
6) Show those card...

Gengar:

1) 120 HP on a Stage 1 is too much, even with x2 weakness.
2) Punish will almost always be hitting for 80 for (RR). Swarm with this card is more than broken. Take the power level down to acceptably broken (120- perhaps?).
3) TOTALLY grammar fail on the second attack. The material before the parenthesis should be one continuous sentence.
4) Lost Zone.
5) your, not you're. Learn the difference. Learn it well.
6) opponent.
7) taking, not takning.
8) I think the part in parenthesis just needs excluded from the attack. Your opponent doesn't have to TAKE all 6 prize cards, just have no prize cards left to take (I think, may need to double check that).

Gengar Pwns: Here is how I would edit it:
first attack should be either 140- or 120 -.

Magmortar (R)
110 HP
Stage 1 (Evolves from Magmar)

[R][R] Punish (140) -
This attack does 140 damage minus 20 damage for each prize card your Opponent has left.

[R][R][R][R][R]: Desperate Madness (150)
Discard all Energy cards attached to Magmortar , or send one of your Opponents prize cards to the Lost Zone, (this counts as your Opponent taking a prize card).

Houndoom Lv. 36 80 HP
(D) Stage 1
Evolves from Houndour

Poke-Body Pack Leader
Houndoom's attacks do 10 more damage for each Houndoom, Houndour, Mightyena, and Poochyena in play.

(D)(C) Overrun 30
Does 10 damage to 1 of your opponent's Benched Pokemon.

(D)(R)(R) Burn Away 50
This attack does 10 damage to each of your opponent's Benched Pokemon times the number of damage counters on that Pokemon.

Weakness (F)+30 Resistance (P)-20 Retreat Cost (C)

Flavor Text: Houndoom hunt in large groups, ganging up on their prey in the darkness of night.

Picture: Shows several Houndoom running along the bottom of a ravine. One is standing on a rocky outcropping near the front of the picture, looking up and forward. The sky is dark and cloudy, with a small crescent moon showing in the background.
