Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Can you throw away trainer cards?

And the card says you have to look for a pokemon that evolves from the active pokemon, mewtwo has no evolutionary chain...*Grumble*

So, I play the card, Wally's Training, with Mew Two Ex as my active Pokemon.

I can certainly look for Mew Two Ex's evolvment in my deck although, of course, I won't find one.

Other than my intent when the card is played, how is this any different than playing Wally's Training when I have a Magikarp as my active Pokemon only to discover that all my Gyarados must be in my prizes?

Do you think that a player should be allowed to play Full Heal on a Pokemon that is not affected by any special conditions?

in league and tournement play, if someone does play a trainer and its purpose can't be completed, what should happen to the trainer?

Well, if they didn't know that it would not work (energy search with energy only in the prizes, for example, it gets discarded.

If they know its impossible, they would be stopped before searching through their deck or whatever futile action they were going to try and the card would stay in their hand.

I'd say right to combat Gardevoir is to hit it with its weakness. I can't think of a card that makes you discard your hand except Elm, which just makes draw seven new cards. But its better than having twice that!

You're thinking of Oak.

Offhand I'd say the ruling is simplistic and it should be up to the individual card as to whether or not you can just discard it.
