Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Canadian Nationals Championships 2007

no offense to anyone, but is golem even a real CARD? I've never even HEARD of that pokemon =/

lol
Actually Golem is from Legend Maker I believe and it's power lies in the following combo:

Meteor Falls+Enraged Linear Attack

Basically Golem uses Meteor Falls to copy Geodudes self destruct attack doing 50 to the active, 50 to itself and 10 to each benched pokemon. THEN next turn Golem will have at least 50 on it, so you can use Enraged Linear Attack doing 50 to any Pokemon in play OR just use Geodudes attack again and hit w/ Enraged Linear for 100 the next turn.

Castaway, Scott, Cessation Crystal, and Energy Root really shine in this deck getting anything necessary out.
I have seen the deck in action and it is DEADLY.

BUT I have no clue if that's how this guy played it, and the Exploud idea is something new and interesting.

No. Charizard Aggron was used by Albertan whom is a Good Friend of Mine.
He prefers not to be known. Oh Yeah, I believe he won a Gym Challenge to
get to Worlds, not a National Championship.

I guess after all this trash talking, Bidier was right and proved many people wrong.

I just want to say that the Top 4 players showed excellent sportsmanship, MUCH BETTER than some people...

I hope to see the Canadians do well at Worlds.

Actually, that is pretty close to what you described for the deck itself. Whoever, I wonder how one can keep its Golem alive since Self-Destructing twice will leave it at only 20 HP (40 IFF Energy Root is used).

Well from my experience, the rush of the deck is really hard to beat. That T2 SelfDestruct is deadly while your opponent is trying to setup. I don't think 2 Selfdestructs is needed. One will usually suffice, so that you still have a good 70 HP left.

I Wish I Lived In Canada!

No you don't.
In Canada, you can do good all year and at Nats lose to randies. *shrugs*

No offence to Gennises or Bidier, but I don't expect them to do very well at worlds.

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

Scizor, same thing as above, but I doubt that we will all be the top 4. I'll go as far as saying 2/4 of us will reach top 4 just because we'll end up playing eachother in top 16 or top 8.

or top 4....looks like I called it ;/

Tone down the tone folks, or a lot of people are getting vacations from the 'gym.

LAST WARNING.

Man, I detect a taste of sour grapes here, or is it just a lot of people eating crow?

I am glad the champ had the sense to change his post, and succeed with a "rogue" deck.

With a field that large (69), it can come down to matchups, and any given Sunday.

good luck to all at Worlds.

I will see you there!
