The Canadian National Championship for both TCG and VG will take place on June 30 and July 1 at the Doubletree Hilton (same venue as last year) near Toronto International Airport.

Unfortunately we will not be able to influence US Nats the way we did last year!

Canada Rocks!

Dammit :( Looks like I won't be seeing my friends in the US this year. Well that or not playing Canadian Nats x.x Thanks for the info!

Will Canadian players be required to have accumulated 10 Play! Points in order to play?

From what I have read here and on Pokemon.com, I would say that you will need 10 Play! Points to play in the Canadian National Championships. I hope that this is not the case, but...

I'd be really surprised if it was 10 CPs. 10 Play! Points seems likely but that is a world away from 10 CPs.

I've been out of it this season... Do you get 1 Play! Point per tournament? Or do you get multiple Play! Points for bigger tournaments, like Regionals?

I also wish they wouldn't put Nats on the long weekend...

You earn 1 Play! point for each league season, 1 for smaller tournaments like Pr, BR and City and I believe Regionals is good for 5.

Cities get 2 Points and SPTs get 3 points according to the website!

Do you know if the video game event will be set up like the US Nationals with TVs for spectators?

I am so relieved to hear this. I was imagining what it would be like to tell young players and parents, as they came up to the registration table with their deck lists, that they would not be allowed to play in the Canadian National Championships. After 7 years I am still impressed by the concern for players and the attention to detail that the people at Pokemon HQ exhibit when it comes to this game. :thumb:

LucarioLvlX, could you please let us know if there will be or if you will work with TPCi on getting a setup similar to the VGC National competitions in the US, UK, France, Spain, Germany, and Italy so that video game matches can be displayed on televisions for spectators and eliminated participants?

Is the swiss going to be the same time as the VGC? Or is it going to be the VGC on top cut of TCG :$

TCG Swiss is going to be on June 30th with a possible play to the Top 8 for all divisions Saturday.
TCG playoffs are scheduled for Sunday mornign around the same time as regionals with the VGC starting at 11-12.

More details to follow. Check out Skyfoxgames and Pokemon.com for any updates!

Hey with the VGC happening this year, is the ugly cup still going to happen? They're always a blast to look forward to.
