Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Canadians -- 1 Additional Trip Reward to World's

cpstar - judges for the UC? I'm assuming Paul for sure, then whoever else can make it. Terry doesn't look like he's going to be because of his comment in post 44. Could be wrong.

Sorry for the delay in posting standings. I still have yet to receive standings from Marvin. I'll update ASAP.

On the judging front, Paul A. has agreed toHJ as has Patrick from Vancouver. Hopefully I can confirm the rest of the staff soon.

SOtG nominations are closed I will annouce the final results once I recieve standings.

11 DAYS UNTIL THE EVENT!!!

I am excited, I hope I just make it in there (along with my brother and my dad). I need to start breaking this format along with the format for nationals. So much work to do when exams are going on:p

OK -- Results are in.

First of all, thanks to the fantastic response we had 82 players in the final composite standings. 39 Masters, 18 Seniors and 25 Juniors. The very high turnout in the Master's rank made me reconsider the number of invites in that division, since having 16 players does not impact the number of rounds, I decided to increase the Master's division to that allotment and to add 1 additional rankings invite and one additional SotG Invite. I have listed alternates in order, as it is highly likely that 1 or more of the players already qualified will place in the Top 4 in Nationals and hence either earn another invite or decline the invite having already won a trip to Worlds. All invitees must confirm by June 20, their intention to play at the UC which will be done by submitting a deck list. Unconfirmed spots will be open to alternates (in order) as listed below as of 30 minutes before the closing of registration on June 21st.

So we have to have a deck ready by saturday?

Does this mean we can't edit our deck or change it Saturday night ....

Sweet! I made it in even going 1-4 in the first one with Exeggutor/Yanmega (w/ no draw support).

Thanks Terry, I look forward to it this weekend :)

Would you like us to send decklists via PM on Pokegym, or to you by e-mail?

Terry: Thank you for making it possible for more invites to your tourny, I am very excited to play in it. I will send all 3 of our lists after we make them:p

Yes. I'll take deck lists up to whenever I decide to go to bed on Saturday night / Sunday morning. We have to wrap this tournament up on time owning to people's return travel schedules.

What about the players who get in through 3rd and 4th place ? Do they need to hand in one?

I'm OK for these players to get them on the morning of the tournament, that's only 6 lists out of 54. Same goes for alternates.

I'll be even happier if you PM me your list before-hand.

This is going to distract from the practice for the main tournament. These 40 card decks are proving to be way too much fun.

It won't be good enough to say I will be playing and my deck will meet the tournament standards?

It will be very hard to get a deck ready with Exams, work and a Nationals to prepare for.

that's why this is the UGLY cup :D we all just going to have to deal with it :) free trip for 2 after all, am sure we will find one way or another to make a good deck ;)

I think most people are in the same situation - deal with it :)

I'm guessing most people will have untested decks. I've made one, but unfortunately no one I know has made a deck to test it against...

It would seem that I would also qualify for the tournament... now I have to build a deck.

So, as far as I could understand- when the master division plays anyone under its division, it will be issued with a 1 or 2 card penalty to the lost zone?

As far as my opinion goes, I agree with what had been said- Almost any of these so-called "elite" juniors are capable of defeating masters given proper deck building and knowledge of the game. A 2-card penalty is not so bad, however, when you factor in that the deck format in this tournament has a 2-card restriction, this becomes a game deciding factor rather than a handicap. If the Masters is running an evolution line, there is only one option- a 2-2 line; I think you can see where I am going with this. This does not restrict with just evolution cards, even combo cards such as Toxitank is in danger of this.

It is however, Terry, your money and your tournament, but I would like to address my concerns as a (possible) participant of this tournament. This is merely a suggestion, but what about before game set-up, the younger player may pick 5 (could vary) cards from the elder's deck, and the elder picks 1 or 2- depending on the division, and sends them to the lost zone?

im just wondering, when you say we can only play 2 of a card dose that mean that if we want to use lv.Xs we can only play 1-1 of that pokemon or are you counting them as diff?
