Please discuss here whether you guys want a
Pokemon League at Jim Hanley's Universe in Manhattan.

League Location
Jim Hanley's Universe
4 West 33rd St.,
New York, New York
(opposite The Empire State Building)

Days and Time
Mondays, 5 PM to 10 PM
$5 Tournament/Sitting Fee

Since I am willing to run it (if enough people show up regularly)
all it takes is enough people here agreeing to show up regularly.
I am already set with the staff and organizers to do it, if I choose.
I already have enough supplies for both locations.

AT THE MOMENT,
It's Mondays, 5 PM to 10 PM.
It could be moved to Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or maybe even some other day.
At the moment, I do NOT plan to have it on Saturdays.

Please discuss, complain, or object to this here.

I am certainly interested. It's great timing, since I go to school in Manhattan and all I need to do it take a subway down to 33rd on any given weekday. I like Saturday, but since you said you have no plan's for it, it's fine. I don't like Sunday in general, I just feel a bit strange. If you get this set up, I will be sure to check it out. Thanks =)

By the way, I am curious. About the Brookyln league, on average, how many people go there?

Just so you know, it does have the potential to hold sanctioned tournaments and pre-releases.
It is quite a large game room (48 plus, if we don't share the room with Magic or Yugioh)

The same people who didn't like the Brooklyn
one have nothing better to say for this one.
Can't please everybody. I guess.

So,
Minimum Purchase of something in the store .
[packs are $4 to $4.50 plus tax] for casual play
OR
$5 Tournament fee that adds to the prize pool.
Approximately 1 to 1.5 packs per person.

Ideas!? Vote for a day too.
Monday nights.

Friday nights?
Saturday
Sunday

There are also comic book signings, Comedy Night, YuGiOh, and Magic TG at the store
so the schedule won't be as consistent as the one in Brooklyn.

I really can't do this alone. I need your input to make this work. ;)
 
Monday nights would do. I'll try to come in whenever I have a chance. To bad about the fee but I guess that's just the way it goes.
 
Mondays is fine. The Fee I know may not be great, but I'll do what I can to support this.
 
this sounds ill. so I can pay $5 to enter a tournament with cash prizes and i'm good?

i think the cash incentive will get New Yorkers to step it up and make amazing decks. this should be on mondays at around 4pm, with tournaments starting at 5.
 
Hello Raymund. Its Ike (the guy with the really strong FlygonX Deck lol)

I support the idea of a League in Manhattan because it serves as a central point. I know some players that live in Bronx and don't feel like coming to Brooklyn but wouldn't mind coming to the city.

I am going to be a very busy student once February hits so I don't think Mondays would work for me. Then again its just in my case, Mondays could be better for others.

I would suggest Fridays since the Timing is 5 PM - 10 PM. I would be getting home possibly after 11:00PM, very close to 12:00AM. Being in the NY SUBWAY after 12:00AM? Just the thought alone scares me, and I am a black guy who grew up in some tough neighborhoods.

I support the idea maybe a day like Friday or Saturday. Maybe also an earlier time (if possible)

and ike you dont have to stay the whole time you can leave earlier.. but there should be umm at least 8 people there that i know are going

8 people, eh? hmm... I would like to go. I can go on MLK day. However, I won't have time to go once classes start for me. also knowing me I would probably stay till like 7PM. Thats enough time for like two games?:lol:
