Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Cardfight!! Vanguard?

Yeah, I play both WS (Disgaea Blues) and VG (OTT Tsukuyomi) pretty heavily. I don't have a preference for either one as they are individual games. "Trigger checks" do not make a game the same and neither does the Grade/Level system. I honestly don't like the anime solely because I find it hard to get excited about an anime where you can predict every climax moment and where you can probably have a better deck than all the characters if you got a starter deck and three boosters.

Vanguard appears to be catching on more in non-Japan countries from what I can see. It is more approachable, definitely. It's also much easier to build a decent deck in VG than WS; I've completely cleaned players in WS who have a deck that's not fine tuned even though their final deck after tuning (3-5 cards) might have a very close matchup against mine, whereas in VG I can't autopilot against a starter deck with a few boosters, even though my deck is fully kitted out and has been through the garage multiple times.

Tsukuyomi is such an amazing deck. Good on you Phillip.

It was either that, Enigman or Stern Blaukruger, but Tsukuyomis are just so much more consistent in endgame than any other deck in terms of being able to stack triggers. Besides, Enigman have a crummy Paladins matchup and Enigman fails to Kagero so it's not hard to choose. What do you play?

Phillip, I play decks I like but at the moment, I am still chasing the right playstyle for the game. Adaptability is my playstyle most of the time, so....

ATM it's

Royal Paladin - MBL, Galahad, Garnall
Oracle Think Tank - Tsukuyomi
Neo Nectar
Bermuda Triangle - Pacifica, Raindear, Riveria

Soon to be Angel Feathers when that hits English release.

So yea, I am a kind of guy who love cute chicks :p

Funny that, I never saw RPs as cute chicks but whatever floats ya boat buddy :p

Aren't Neo Nectars just a lower damage higher consistency Nova Grapplers? I haven't lost to NNs yet out of a few matches because they just have no damage and can't hit magic numbers.

RP's does have a few like Lien, Elaine and Akane...but the main reason why I like it is becasue it reminds me heavily of my favourite YGO deck I used to play for like 2-3 years, Lightsworns.

Neo Nectar is a really good deck if played and built correctly. Those you must've versed must of not a good build or not a good player... So yeah.

So yea, I'm more of a LIGHT/GRASS/WATER/PSYCHIC type of person for any games.

I just got back into YGO playing Fortune Ladies. Funniest stuff.

Maybe NNs just have a bad Tsukuyomi matchup. As soon as I hit my trigger stacks it just becomes game over. Decks like Paladins can at least stick around through my trigger stack since they have a hard time breaking 20k. Do you focus on Trailing Rose in your deck? The people I've played against did some thing where they swarm Gene and spam Behemoth.

My grade 3s for neo nectars are trailing roses and laurel.

Re ygo. Fortune ladies is fun for you but trolling even more fun with empty jar that what i play

So Rose as your VG and 2 Laurels for RG. I can see how that would work.
What happened to Spike Bros? Everyone was raging about how good they are at one point but I don't really see them around.

I actually considered Empty Jar because I used to play it but I don't find it as fun because you don't really get a game.

I did do Empty Jar in WC2010 (With Action Replay) and it was fun to use.
On the Cardfight!! Vanguard subject, I ordered the Royal Paladin Trial Deck yesterday off of Amazon and one of my local stores might start English tournaments sometime from what I know. I really can't wait to try it out.

Spike Bros get the pickle up the ... from Royal Paladins. I haven't lost to them yet.

And my DW deck in Yugioh will give Empty Jar a run for the money.

Well, yeah, but I reckon that's just because of how the two decks work; RP has a lot of field presence but SB doesn't really until lategame. If you want to make a happy triangle, Kageros beat RPs which beat SBs which beat Kageros. I still think they have potential.
It's like how Tsukuyomi has a bad matchup against Granblue because they can easily survive through the trigger stack. Granblues still get wrecked by Pale Moons which still have a tough time against Tsukuyomis.

You can triangle pretty much any 3 decks and that's what I love about Vanguard. It's extremely balanced.

People also say that Nova Graplers can beat palidins too. I guess because of overwhelming power that they can dish out.

That Dragonic Overlord is stupid good in Kagero decks. It's even worse when they hit a stand trigger to stand it if it's in the R. There's like no deffense against it and it make you use up a lot of stuff just to block it. If I can get past cards like that, then I'll be alright.

I just had a friend teach me how to play, it was pretty fun and definitely different.

I had some sort of royal paladin deck with some pink dogs and level 2 guys that could guard for extra or something like that.

Overall, it seemed pretty balanced, and I liked how the gameplay worked. However, it did seem kinda luck based because you have to get certain cards flipped for the triggers or whatever. Although, I can't name any game that isn't luck based.

@amphy, Maybe. Novas isn't really a deck type that I know too much about - I know the basic concepts but I don't really know its matchups other than against Tsukuyomi. All I know about OTT vs NG is that it requires a lot of concentration! Kageros are pretty much anti-RP though, since they blow up your rear guards all the time and get bonuses for it. The entire concept of RP is rear guards and that's just food for Kagero :(
@thunderjolt, Yeah, that's Paladins. And yes, the trigger system can be a bit lucksack at times but on the other hand there are no coin flips in the game and you can mulligan your opening hand. That in addition to choosing your starter really makes it easier :D

I play Kagero and really enjoy it. The overwhelming power is good, I got 9th in locals. Theres about a regular turnout of 50 players on an average day in South Florida.

I still have high hopes for Season 2 of the Cardfight!! Vanguard Anime, and as it turns out it's a Rescue Arc. The Clans that the Main Characters' decks are based on are Sealed from the Planet Cray and the only way to unseal them is by winning the next Vanguard Tournament and there's actually proof that Aichi and Kai will get their old decks back since Bushiroad recently spoiled some new cards for the Royal Paladin, Shadow Paladin, and Kagero Clans.

I heard it from someone on a different forum regarding the CFV Anime and he did a Online Search of upcoming CFV cards that haven't been released yet from Bushiroad. If they have done away with the Main Characters' old decks I'd almost lose my interest in the Anime and TCG entirely, still it will be interesting to see how it all pans out. Still looking forward to trying out the actual TCG once I get a couple of Starter Decks. That and it will take me awhile getting used to how Gold Paladins work in the Anime.

Where are you seeing season 2 of the anime at?

Oh man.

So yeah, I am sticking with Bermuda Triangle as my main JAPANESE deck.

My English deck that's coming soon is ANGEL FEATHERS and hope to have ORACLE THINK TANK, MOON VER. done when their needed cards come out in a few months time...

So its time for me to stop dealing with JPN cards and sell + trade them off whenever I can...

Srsly, I only sold my English Royal Paladins.....For profit...

I've played a few games at league with a friend's deck. It's alright, definitely better than YGO, but it's not replacing Pokemon (and Friday Night Magic) on my priority list any time soon.
