Cartoon Network being an idiot?

Nick at least did one thing absolutely right by making Avatar the Airbender. Seriously, one of the best American made animated shows of the last 10 (if not 20) years.
 
According to Wikipedia, yes, it's 100% American made, though it has definite Asian influences.
 
Nothing can replace Gundam Wing. It was awesome, best mecha anime ever. Shame on CN for getting rid of it.:nonono:
 
Chowder is bad at best, and Flapjack is so far beyond awful it's painful.
 
Vote with your remote. My kids watched Pokemon every morning before school. Now that it is off the weekday schedule Nick is turned on instead of CN. I'm sure the cable providers track viewership and that info gets passed to the networks.

Actually, you're wrong. Gundam W isn't even the best Gundam series let alone the best mecha anime ever.

Best mecha anime ever is, of course, Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann.

Code Geass, after a hiatus, has become a mecha anime again. (It seems to move in cycles)

The majority of Neon Genesis Evangelion was pretty good, but the ending kinda sucked. Gotta say I've never seen any of the Gundams, but I think I'll try to check out TTGL if you guys reccomend it.


Back on topic. I miss the old days of Tonami. Ruroni Kenshin, YuYu Hakusho and others really were my introduction to Anime, and I was shocked when they moved Tonami to Sat only... The quality of American TV shows has really gone down the tube. Best show in the last 10 years has got to be Avatar the Last Airbender.
 
Back in my day......

I'm 42 now, and I'll tell you, when CN first started, it rocked! The line up was the old great HB heroes, like the herculoids, OG space ghost, even the HB Godzilla toon, which was fun for the fights, even if they didn't get godzilla right (and what was up with that Godzookey thing? eeeesh!). Then they did get some great original programming, like Samurai Jack, Powder Puff Girls, Johhny Bravo. Then cool anime came, like the Big O, Cyborg 007, Kikaida, and of course Cowboy Bebop. Then it all seemed to go to heck in a handbasket!


RE:adult swim:I still like some of the stuff. ATHF is always good for sick and twisted humor, and Metalocalypse is just very well done, period. But, do we really need to see so much of Family guy? American Dad? What is going on with that excellent show, great job crap? That's not even a cartoon! Just two guys being total idiots, and they are getting paid! All of CN has gone downhill fast! The do have the old school friday nights, but I never liked the coast to coast, or Brak or that sealab or birdman stuff, so that wastes my late nights after I put my son to bed, and try to wind down.

I do agree that Avatar is a fantastic cartoon. If only more stuff like this was made, I don't think we'd have anything to complain about.

BTW:Ben 10 is a pretty good show if you've watched it from the beginning. It reminds me ALOT of that old DC comic, "Dial H for Hero". Never read it? Check it out!

I agree that Pokemon is not a great anime, but it is good family fare, and I know our whole family sits down to watch it saturday mornings. remeber this stuff is aimed at the kiddies, and not us. Too bad we'll never see anime like Ninja scroll (OG movie, NOT that series) and Akira on CN.

I think we just need fresh creators to come on the scene, and do something new and vibrant, like what Kricfalusi did when he made the early Ren & Stimpy for Nick. We always see these highs and lows in cartoons, movies, TV, we just gotta roll with it and hope for the best!

Some channels though like Scifi have anime on, problem is its stupid movies like that one where this girl cant put down a book and you got people named Agent Paper.
 
Well, now a days, i m addicted to anime network, I watched cartoon network only when good movies being aired on this channel.
 
Will now all they show is crappy kid shows. They got rid of all the decent shows such as:
Ed, Edd, n Eddy
Billy & Mandy
Daxter's Lab
Two Stupid Dogs
and many others.

Plus the Toonami they have now is the exact opposite of what is was designed for, the only thing good that they air is Samurai Jack. If they are going to keep this up they should at least make another network for the good stuff.
