Castaway and Searches

Let's say I play a Castaway. I search my deck for a Fighting NRG and a Supporter, but I don't want to take a Tool, even though I have at least one in there.

So, do I have a choice to not take the tool?

My reasoning is because the game doesn't know that I have a tool in there, I can fail the search. See failed searches on Holon Mentor/Great Ball/etc..

Right. Since the exact contents of your deck is not known, you can purposely fail the search for the Tool.
