@thisguy: how do I counter gengars that like to snipe from the bench or even as the active pokemon?

Ill use healix for example. Putting special metal reduces attacks by 10 damage. if they have 2 or more on that pokemon thats -20 damage so you deal 60 or less damage even with expert belt. And when they hit you with 180 and keeps on healing the steelix that steelix has 0 damage done to it and hitting you with 180+. And when you have expert belt. Well there is 2 prize cards for them but with celebi prime, the big tank decks retreat is to high and all the pokemon are stage 1 and 2. This deck may be fast but you also gotta remember your opponent may be faster. And your bench may be full of easy donks.

umm steelix gets one shot by charzard hes weak to him x2 i belive and charzard is WAY faster and there are no easy donks due to all your pokes are stage 2 for the most part charzard with expert belt is swinging for 100 damage with one energy and the list i run i can hit for 130 (no belt) by turn 3-4, 5-6 AT LATEST but thats my list :)

now on your deck i would say the blazikin is your best bet i dont even run the lvl X i just run 2 of the FB for the luring flame its a great starter poke prob the best for this deck you can real mess people up with it. i do not run stark mountain and i dont run spirit tomb in fact my whole deck is fire lol :) i run 13 energy and 3 interviewers questions i found that interviewers questions is great for this deck it works as a great draw source and well this deck REALY needs energy its the backbone imo. gl hope i helped

(SRY for any spelling errors or grammar im chasing my kid around so please dont flame on me)

@dosle: i was thinking the same thing...cause there are times were im short on energy but when i have it...there is no contest...the rescue energies keep my charizards on the ready thanx to BTS and i only fight with him...so i will put some IQs in this deck and try em out...i have two of those blazikens coming in the mail so I should be good now

my son has a great charizard deck. Has beaten lux chomp and does very well at league. But he got smoked at OK states. 1-3.

@thisguy: how do I counter gengars that like to snipe from the bench or even as the active pokemon?

Burning Tail, the way Charizard deals with most things is just to try and kill it because it's able to rack up monstrous damage more consistently than any other deck in the format. IQ isn't a bad play, I've been trying to fit one into my deck for ages to increase speed/consistency but found 2 Fisherman to work better as I only run like 9 fire energy anyway so getting them out with IQ is iffy.

Glad i helped you :) one more thing thou if you wanna listen, take out the uxie its no good here the nine tails are all you need and well hes not fire. I need to get rescue energy its really the only diff between our decks if you take out uxie. After testing my build (no blissy) i come to the conclusion this deck can compete at any level even the GDOS match up is not too bad charzard only has a +30 weaknees and he can one shot a DOS and DOS can not oneshot him (if you assume GDOS has a belt then its only fair to assume charzard does as well) and thats the out of date GDOS deck with .... discard 2 Draw 4 ... lol dont remember name of that card but the deck is the tournament one that they sell at stores so really really good and imo the best version of GDOS.

well thats that so to say GDOS is the biggest prob imo and i think even there its not a bad one, on the advice part lookers is realy good for this deck, if you dont like your hand or just need resources then BAM you get em but in the process you learn what your oppent is planning and if you dont like it, its gone.

- Azelf, Combee, anything thats not fire except one uxie, take out the call energy its pretty useless
-add 1-1 Blaziken and another quilava and BTS

add the BTS for sheer speed and quilava since you are losing azelf, you will thank me later :p

I've played this deck, I took it to states, it needs to not have bench clutter thats not fire, because too many timesa have i found myself sitting in the situation of "dang, i need one more fire type to knock it out, but that stupid Azelf is in the way."

I also recommend a Devoluter, because you dont want your awesome fully powered belted charizard losing against some obnoxious fainting spell.
A Fisherman can be nice too when you just need straight energy.
And a Luxury Ball

This deck has tremendous potential, it can just be an annoyance to play sometimes though when youre missing the one crucial card that will change the game.

Wow u guys gave given me great advice....I don't really need uxie but azelf is there in case I have sumthin valuable as a prize card...I got two blaziken fb so I will edit my deck and then you guys tell me what u think. Once again thanx for the help
