which do you think is better?
i think blastoise is quite awesome
but i can't help but get excited looking at
charizards second attack, 150 and only
having to discard one fire energy is pretty
awesome if you ask me

that grass weakness has virizion and shaymin ex written all over it though

PLEASE. You're really going to try to counter that with those? Yes, blastoise is week, but those two will get eaten alive in this format. Plus, you have to use Shymin at the right time, which will hinder you alot. Just my opinion.

Keldeo needs three energy to Ko a non-eviolite Shaymin EX
Keldeo Needs 4 to knock out reg Virizion (NVI) and Shaymin EX eviolite
Keldeo needs 5 energy to destroy both.
Mewtwo needs 9 energy inbetween to knockout Keldeo.
I take more prizes fast than you.
I win the prize race.

that's why no one plays shaymin, ever, in anything.

It works pretty well in D/H due to the ability to move energy. In other decks it struggles, but D/H is a strong deck... and it still will be.

the virizion idea will be a lot more reasonable once x4 vileplume is released, seeing that virizion will be able to one shot blastoise and keldeo like it's nothing, shaymin ex is definately a tech card but in d/h it shines and someone playing d/h vs blastoise could use shaymin to ko keldeo ex easily in the late game to snag a victory

Hey, remember how big a "splash" Feraligatr made in the metagame? It was Grass weak too!

Remember how everyone is still playing Emboar?

I'll believe it when I see it. Keldeo is pretty good, and may be just what Blastoise needs, but having to cycle energy back to the hand is less good than Dark Patch or Eels. Those decks work because of how easy it is to keep energy in play.

I think Blastoise will be good good right off the bat, and Charizard will become good later on. I think it starts to become more legitimate when the Plasma set gets released. Charizard is a very underrated card. 150 damage and a snipe attack that sets that attack up for ohko's on EX's, and only 1 energy discarded which makes maintaining that attack turn after turn realistic? Colorless energy requirement for the most part....

The card will be by no means easy to use, but for those who put in the effort to find the right combination to make it work will find Charizard is a very strong card.

Energy Retrieval can keep energy in play for Blastoise/Keldeo.

My Little Blastoise is going to definitly be present in the metagame. No doubt. Charizard won't be as playable but I'm sur we'll still see people try to play it. I could see people playing it with celebi ex as well but I don't think it will really compete with Blastoise.

ill be playing a charizard deck its my fav pokemon and i actually have a great running fire deck that even does well against water decks it would be replacing my blazikens in that deck

The only reason Feraligatr didn't see as much play as it did is becuase Rain Dance could only attach :water: Energy to :water:-type Pokemon. Blastoise's Deluge can attach to anything, plus the Squirtle can't be sniped. So the Blastiose will deifintely see some play.

Charizard...not so much, it's too slow.

- Croatian "and if I can't swim after 40 days...." Nidoking

Feraligatr wasn't seen much play because of Jumpluff steamrolling all over him, so no one played Feraligatr. Not to mention that Feraligatr did not have any good backup attackers at the time.

Blastoise is a totally different case here because there are not really any good grass attackers other than Virizion and Shaymin. Shaymin is one that can't sweep the field alone, due to its low hp and its an ex. Not to mention it takes two energies to attack, and your opponent will probably play catcher no the Shaymin ex and boom she's gone.

Virizion would be a fine attacker, the only problem is Virizion needs a Plus Power to one shot the Keldeo ex. The deck would need to run at least 2 Virizion to keep up the battle between Keldeo and Virizion.

Overall, Blastoise/Keldeo will be a very good contender for the cities Metagame. The deck will dominate in the same way Darkrai/Hydreigon dominated Battle Roads.
