Hi there, in the ask the rules team forum post


The answer provided addressed the poison specifically but not the gusting effect. since the attack targets your opponent's active pokémon I assumed that sky pillar would not block the gust either.

if this is the case then would sky Pillar also fail to block the gusting effects on these other five cards with a gusting attack that states

" switch the defending pokémon with 1 of your opponent's bench pokémon"

If an Attack targets the Defending to move it to the Bench, the Bench Pokémon is not protected.
But if the Attack targets a Bench Pokémon to make it the Active, then the attack fizzles.
