I'm curious about the relationship between these two rulings:
== CRITICAL MOVE (Slaking - EX:Ruby/Sapphire)
Q. If I have a R/S Slaking that is confused, and try to attack with "Critical
Move" but flip tails, can I try "Critical Move" again on my next turn or not?
A. Since the flip for confusion was tails, the normal function of the attack did
not occur. So in this situation you could try Critical Move again on your next
turn. (Sep 15, 2005 PUI Rules Team)
== CRYSTAL SHARD (Skyridge; EXeoxys)
Q. If I have Crystal Shard attached to a confused pokemon and flip tails, do I
have to discard Crystal Shard or can I keep it?
A. A failed confusion flip is still considered an attack. So you would have to
discard the Crystal Shard. (Sep 15, 2005 PUI Rules Team)
Why does it count as an attack for the second ruling, and not for the first? Not trying to nitpick. :biggrin: I just want to understand how the two situations are different, and why.
Thanks!
