Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Claydol abuse

There is absolutely nothing broken with this card. Claydol has a power that lets you draw cards. You want to be able to use him again, whether it is in the same turn or not, you must play more cards from your hand. This causes you to have less cards in your deck, which could cost you the game if you are not careful. That is the check and balance with this card. Not to mention all the ways that you can deal with it in game, whether it be stopping powers, conforming and using the card (he's not THAT hard to get your hands on), or both. Haha, there is no such thing as a broken card when both players involved in the game have the same opportunity to play a card.

I honestly gave up fighting it after hating him for a while and began playing him, and I admit it was not that hard converting.

Claydol is the only good draw card in this format, so naturally he is going to be used in every deck not only having a single stage 1 line.

And for those of you saying he is broken, be quiet. Seriously, your pathetic whining is getting annoying. Everyone runs Claydol? Everyone runs Bebe, Roseanne, Night Maintenance, Warp Point, all of these cards must be banned. Lets ban all cards until we are left with things like Hippowadon DP and Eggs LA.

When we have no draw in the format, a pokemon capable of drawing cards every turn is going to be abused. Deal with it.

Actually, Ness didn't run Night Maintenance in his World Championship deck, which surprised me a little.

I'm talking about this format....
Otherwise Bebe wouldn't work either, since people could have run Celio.

And Plox doesn't need NM, since it takes up card spots that could be used for search and since Plox usually kills you regardless.

So someone tell me what we're arguing about if the last 2 pages of posts were supporting claydol in the format.

It's an expensive card, to say the least. I really wonder if I can make up the cost of a GE box on the claydols alone.

all of these cards are great they are good for consistency i play a 2 -2 line in every deck i play except a m u .

Claydols are fine. The problem is the price and the difficulty for beginners to get hold of them. They should be reprinted so there is more going round.

They're hard to get, in even box-wise. I only pulled 1 or 2 when I got a box last year.

36 rares per box.
Subtract the foil rares.
25 rares per box (estimation)
21 rares in the set.
Each rare should only be pulled once, and 4 should be pulled twice.
Claydol is not any harder to get than other rares, this conspiracy ends now.

this card needs to be toned down,
You can accomplish this by metagaming.
Adapt to the new tournament environment. Try Nidoking. It can bring up Claydol active and poison it (poisoned Pokémon cannot use PokePowers, and it has two retreat cost).
Gardevoir is still a somewhat viable card.
You could also try forcing your opponent to bring up Claydol with Palkia lvX and KO it.
Transceiver was an uncomon, yet was much rarer then many of the rares in DS. :p
LOL
You guys just keep telling each other that Claydol is essential until you don't even try not using it. If you can't think outside the box, don't get in the box at all.

*sob* *sob* I don't have any Claydols *sob* *sob* I am tired of getting owned at tournaments and league *sob* *sob* I know! Instead of figuring out a way to improvise, get some Claydols, beat it, or get around it, I am going to create a thread that whines about it! Obviously there is something wrong with the metagame because I am losing. If only Claydol did not exist, I could be a l33t pokeemanz player and pwn all teh n00bz!
an excellent analysis.
