Well,

I had thought that the Ohio State event would be my last event in Ohio, well I was wrong. I will be here for this tournament, but I'll be there as a North Carolinean. (I'll be moving to my dorm the week after).

Should be a lot of fun!

Anyone that has Rare Candies - I will trade just about anything - Pokemon, high-priced YGO cards (very easy to sell on ebay), Emerald packs, etc.

How long will the tourney be???
Depends on attendance, of course, but I'd expect the main event to be done around 3 or 4. Could be later, though. Side events deep into the night!

Sealed was evil to most 11-14 - I think at one time 4-5/6 3-0 were 10-. In my packs I got no Rare Candies, Scotts, or Battle Frontiers, also no Cacneas or Duskulls for my Cacturne or Dusclops EXes. I ended up running a 2-2 Hariyama and a 1-1 Grumpig with 22 energy. Lost round 1, won the next 3, (was up $5 when we played hold 'em during lunch) then lost playing up to Steven Davis at Table 1 the last round. I ended up getting 4th and again, no Battle Frontiers, Scotts, or Rare Candies. Afterwards trading was crazy. I got 2 Rare Candies from Fulop, 4 Battle Frontiers(1 was RH which I traded to Ajay for a Rockets Sneasel), and 2 Scotts..

Props to the Lathems for running such a great event.

Hey, just got home from this event, and here's my take from a judge's point of view.

I have to say that it went very, very well. There were no problems whatsoever, with the exception of an Oran Berry Ruling involving the whole "in between" rounds that just took effect just a few days ago. There weren't any delays at any time. Everything just went very nicely. We had a nice sized turnout around 45 or so overall.

It was nice getting a chance to hang out all day with my pals from Ohio. I have no slops to post, only props. Thank you to the Lathems for stepping up to run the event. And for their first event, and for it to go so well, that's awesome. Thank you to all of you Ohio players who came out to make this event. And as I leave the Ohio metagame for North Carolina after next week, it was nice to leave on such a high note.

I want to wish all of my Ohio comrades the best. I hope that the Lathems are satisfied with their event, and are driven to continue their events in the future. It was also a delight to see the Gillettes again too (always great to see y'all.) Fulop, YJ, Tom, and Drew all I can say is mize on, you guys, mize on!

Best wishes,

~Jim
